Speaking on the issue, the Peoples Democratic Party said it would be too early to speculate on whether the President would head the ministry or not.

Rather, the opposition party urged Nigerians to wait till September when the President promised to name his cabinet.

So PDP is the opposition party now? Chai! Power is transient.

Good move by Mr President. Our Petroleum ministry is arguably the most corrupt institution in Nigeria. The workers need a reminder that it's no longer business as usual.

I expected Buhari to head the ministry of solid mineral and steel...why petroleum? There is nothing wrong with that ministry. Apart from the gross embezzlements, That ministry is on track. I tot we were in the business of diversifying the economy.

Is Buhari a 2015 technocrat in oil and gas?
Is it the lack of trusted individuals or the lack of qualified technocrats that is driving this move?
What exactly does he intend to achieve in 18months, if he is good for 18months then he can do for four years.

The agricultural, manufacturing and power sectors need urgent attention. Buhari should start seeing beyond oil.

I agree wit d fact dat nigerian economy shldnt be based on oil.I must tell you even beyond d shores of nigeria d plumeted oil price is affecting dem seriously, recently united arab emirate dubai removed subsidy on petrol fuel price they were able to adjust well due to a well planned public transportation d good government invested on. So if thre is no one to trust its better mr president handle d ministry himself .He has done it befre so I believe he has d technical know how and also wit his presence I believe other officers will learn how to do things right. This is the back bone of the country's economy if its okay I believe good quality living will surely emerge. He will be held accountable for any miss management. lets pray for God guidance and support.

Democracy has many versions of definition in Nigeria. Government of either the people,or the loved ones, relatives for the people. Hope PMB government will not be like shielding oneself from being suspected or checked for corruption while those being suspected are to be seriously dealt with.
