Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, has relived Ngozi
Abu of his position as the state accountant-general.
Simeon Nwakaudu, special assistant to the governor on
media, confirmed the development, saying Dagogo Abere,
the director of treasury, has been appointed to replace Abu
in acting capacity.

“The Rivers state accountant-general, Ngozi Y. Abu has
been removed from office,” Nwakaudu said in a statement.

“The director treasury, Sir Dagogo R. Abere has been
appointed as acting accountant-general of the state. This
appointment takes immediate effect.”

hmm i feel this is a breach of the civil service law. The accountant general is a civil servant and can only be relieved of his job when he attains retirement or is found wanting. in the case he is found wanting, he should be officially queried and be brought before a disciplinary committee. anyways APC taught PDP how to witch hunt.

Accountant general is different from auditor general... The governor or president can do whatever they like with accountant general, that why we have the auditor general....

He is the governor and he can appoint whoever he wishes.

I hope he wont appoint based on sentiments sha
