chronique:For some reason people on nairaland need to make demigods of politicians who have done nothing except make speeches, hence all of the cries of 'Sai Buhari'; the incessant updates on the ongoings of El-Rufai (a man implicated in several scandals in Abuja); and all the posts celebrating the lives of the scions of lifelong politicians. |

The problem with nigerians is THEY ARE NOT UNITED so much tribalism, and selfishness as in, if it's not happening to you or your families, then it's not your concern |

Good write up and apt analysis of the effect of poverty on the average Nigerian. Some of these people don't even know the implication of what they are doing hence they see it as opportunity to take their 'entitlement' from the rich. This is where the media has a role to play in educating the populace especially on the illiterates and semi illiterates who worship money that each time they are offered paltry sums of money for praise singing the politicians, they are selling the destinies of their children for pot of porridge. |

Nigerians really dont love nigeria to the point of sacrificing to make nigeria better. Whats with politicians flying the nigerian flag close to their party flag during elections only to jet out of the country to treat a catarrgh or prefer to have their spouses give birth in a foreign land as if to say ''nigeria is a cursed country'', having benefitted from the cursed country. Where is that nigerian who loves nigeria by heart? Who will die for the unity of the country and not for what he gains from the unity of the nation. The ordinary nigerian on the street is not any better, we all long for the day we would have our fair share of the national cake just like the politicians are making a filth of the common wealth. Where is that love for a sick nation like nigeria? |

GodMode:It's true that we do not have accurate population figures. We should all know why by now. Nigeria really needs constitutional reform so as to get rid of this culture of federal welfare payments. |

mankand:Which youths to take the front seat, that's the problem. In the late 1970s, Buhari was federal oil commissioner. Today, Buhari is to be oil minister. In the early1980s, Buhari as HoS told youths that they were Nigeria's future leaders, today Buhari was voted by same youths to lead them. That explains the fact that the youths have been least-informed, short-changed, left poor, powerless and denied growth and prosperity by the Buharis and their successors in military leadership. Worse, the youths don't understand. |

When you gain admission into any school you are expected to pass all exams in order to graduate. Any Nigerian who works against/sells his conscience is a failure and must re-write all the exams which are: either he wallow in poverty until he clears his conscience right or he continues to serve people till thy kingdom come. The wise will never carry placards for the politicians who never know nor ask for their whereabout after wining elections until when they want to recontest. Thank God we have a hope of change. I am seeing a Nigeria when the masses will go to court to protest a rigged election instead of the contestant. May God help Nigeria. |

Most of our illiterate youth will not understand what this thread is talking about. I plead with all Nigerian youth to become apolitical and compel our leaders to account for their leadership.. One Thief in Abia state used state resources to construct new government house which he could not finish before his tenure expired, constructed new office blocks which are still pending and built an over N3bn personal house for himself in the heart of town to spite the poor people living around him and who's lands he forceful ejected them from to erect his palatial edifice. When he was at this, state xommissioners were still being owed 7 months salaries to May 2015. That is how wicked the average Nigerian politician is.. If Buhari does not probe this SINATOR, then he is joking.. |
