Not necessary in some cases. Each app is personal. But it's been known to help applicants.

Thanks for your response. But the E-medical form that was sent to me contains the IME of my application that was refused. Are you sure I can upload it?

Hi Everybody,

Just wanted to use the opportunity to thank all the contributors in the house in advance.

I got admitted into Lambton College for the Winter Class 2016 but was unfortunately laid off from my Job 4 months ago.I am stranded right now as i do not know how to proceed with my application as per my employment status.

Identify your passions and start volunteering with a reputable NGO in that area. You would put this volunteering as your current activity, with proof. Or, why not find a primary or secondary school close to you and volunteer as a teacher for some subject you are good at? Do the volunteering thing (identify a place asap) for maybe two months and then refire, but don't quit the volunteering after you refire. You could even use the volunteering thing to win the heart of the VO if in your SOP you link it with your passions.

Edited: what course are you going for?

best bet.. get down here lodge a day or two (book online hi-vancouver central or hi-jericho abt 45CAD/nyt) . surf craigslist and check d apts out yrself. cheapest room so far is 450CAD/month.. thats if u wanna stay in kits. if u wanna stay offcampus 600CAD. dnt worry abt daily transport cost.. ubc will issue u a compass card dt allows u transit in the city at no personal cost. come with kingsize raincoats. rain is vancouvers hobby. food here is on d high side.. fruits cheap.

Ok, spend some time thinking about how to use your IT skillset for a school or reputable NGO. And then identify which school/NGO you would approach. Make sure you have a plan of exactly what you can help them with; you could also ask them what areas in which they need IT help. Tell them why you are interested in volunteering with them (don't say because you need to show it to Canada embassy).

The $300 POS/Online transaction daily limit policy has been reviewed. This is from GTB
"Please be informed that we have just been notified today 10/08/2015 that you are now eligible to make a $10,000 monthly POS/Online transaction; such that you can decide to initiate a $10,000 transaction in a day-which automatically means you have exhausted your monthly limit, this was updated after the initial circular sent during the weekend."

sounds better ....thanks Bea

Your medical is valid for 12months from the date you undertook it for all CIC medical related requests, and since your medical was last month it is still very much valid. I wonder why you think i would say or advise otherwise.

Hello Guys.. congrats to those who already got their TRVs and God speed to those still hopeful. i am about to make my own application after my first delay last year. i have a couple of questions here and there just to be sure. . firstly, last year the agent i applied through, in the family info form, filled only one sibling for me. now that i am applying again, by myself do i include my other two siblings? or stick to the one sibling? secondly, my father who is my co-sponsor, with about 3m, has this amount in a fixed deposit. and he has the fixed deposit certificate. would he still need to liquidate the amount into his account before printing his SOA for my application? or would the fixed deposit certificate just serve fine? thanks for your help so far guys. kiss kiss kiss

well in my own case my sponsor had 5M. 3M was in fixed deposit and 2M was in the account all she did was print out her SOA and attached the Fixed deposit without liquidating the fixed deposit

ur dad can include in his sponsorship letter he saved up that 3M to support ur education blah blah

Hey,have you got any admission response ?
Not yet. I'm applying for winter and the deadline for international students is 1st of september, though i finished my application like 2 months back. When i contacted the department they said decisions won't be ready until October which i feel is kind of late. Hopefully, i should get an offer from Manitoba this week which i can use to begin processing my TRV. If eventually McGill works out then i can switch. When did you apply?

thank you @kennykentipsy

Guys, i have another question. being that i am my own sponsor. do i include this in my SOP(which would make it lengthy a bit) or do i have to write a sponsorship declaration for myself?

Thanks for sharing brother. I'm so sorry to hear about your delay. You have been super helpful on this thread. If there's any silver lining in your delay, it is that they only ticked "insufficient funds", which you can straightforwardly tackle in your refire.

Thank you SOJ

Nice one bro. cool Your application is simple and solid! I wish you all the best in your endeavours.

You are welcome, champ!
By the way, this was the same exact reason my sister was refused on her last application (well, two "insufficient funds" reasons were ticked even with more than sufficient funds in the sponsor's account). It is extremely annoying. I wonder why they didn't just ask her to bring more evidence.

I'm beginning to suspect that CIC would rather reject applicants with almost-perfect (but not perfect) applications because to reapply the applicant will pay a fresh application fee thus enriching CIC's pockets. This is a perverse incentive, and it is maddening and unfair. The "denials after medicals" is another unfair and unethical trend. E go beta.

Good people of Canada thread. I have been a silent follower but now the time has come for me to ask my questions. I have applied to 3 colleges, lambton and Sheridan college. Hoping to get admitted soon. My main question is this, I'm going to be sponsoring myself because I have been into haulage business and I have more than 9m in my acc. But my business is not registered with cac . How can I prove source of funds and is it compulsory I put the tax certificate? Pls I will like my answered. Ty

I was about making payment for my online TRV application, when I clicked "transmit to pay" it showed an error code that they are having technical difficulties. When I logged in again into mycic account it showed "processing for submission" and there is no link for me to continue my application, I saw "next" but its not enabled(It does not respond to my clicks).
Please how do I continue with my app so I can make payment?

Right now I am sickened to my stomach with this CIC approach.
First it was responding to Msc applicants while ignoring PGD, next they started refusing people after medical request for reasons best known to them.
Now they have totally ignored the remaining Fall applicants.
Well I reserve my comments for now.

Sir, leets keep calm.

The medicals I think we're shared out at first to save time after full examination is done as resumption is near..

Because even those that have done medicals are waiting so long to get approvals.....so they didn't send the medicals because the app was at the final stage.

The speed at which the medicals came then was kinda suspicious too...(some in 2weekks, some in 3weeks)
So I personally feel they are just getting to our apps now..

Brother whatever they are doing it not funny at all.
I no know which one worse pass, the refusal after medicals or total ignorance of people whose programs will be starting in less than 30 days.
If they decide to call you for medicals today, how long do you think it will take from medicals to TRV approval? are you ready to book the very expense hurried flight ticket?
Frankly the whole thing is might be pointing towards January, time is not really your friend now.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by hayqinsbFX: 7:45am On Aug 11, 2015
I get yur pooint sir especially for online routers that haven't done medicals...the whole PP request,pp collectionn, medical request, medcal passed stage na like 2weeks on its own.

Paper routers with upfront medicals would have less fears.

I think these people know this it and they will speed up at d right time..

Please do I need a transit visa to touchdown in the US? Cause I'm looking at booking United Airlines for my trip but there's a stopover in New York.

Is there any specific reason why you would wanna transit via USA?
If you cant afford the flight to Saskatoon, then fly into Toronto and take a Bus from Toronto . . . You will even love the scenery that you will see on the way and know Canada more than people that were born in Canada with such road trip

Sir, can I travel down from Toronto to Prince Edward Island with a bus?
