Lovesdaisied:Why are you excluding him from the list and what is this Ikwere vs Igbo? You mean you cannot tell if Elechi Amadi is an Igbo man or not? Listen brother, the Ikwere people speak Igbo as their ancestral language, they have Igbo surnames. What else makes a person Igbo? |

Lovesdaisied:So much love Cyprian's work and that of Ngugi Wa Thiong'o like. Hardly ever felt he was an igbo. Literature like sport is an excellent unifying factor in Nigeria. Those illiterate that do not read are apt to shout Biafra without recourse to sound reasons. |

coolitempa:SS people? What's this so called SS people? SS is just a term the Abacha Government came up with. It is not the name of a people. How do you identify an Igbo person? Is it by the language or surname? I'm from Anambra, I speak Igbo as my ancestral language and I have an Igbo surname, am I Igbo? The Ikwere Man speaks Igbo as his language and has an Igbo name, is he Igbo? Next thing you will tell me that the Ikwere are not Igbo because Abacha came up with the name South-South. |

Lovesdaisied:This is far from the end of it! You conveniently termed some Igbo or decendants of Igbos as Igbo then when you came to an Ikwere man who has an Igbo name and speaks Igbo as his first language, suddenly, you don't knows who is Igbo and who is not. This is pure deceit! You must add everything, Delta-Igbo, Ikwere-Igbo,Etche-Igbo,Anioma-Igbo,Igbanke-Igbo and everything Igbo. Don't play this sort of game here. |

coolitempa:Igbo sounding names? Igbo sounding language. Nonsense. The first time I was in Ikereland I understood everything they said, infact, I understand Ikwere-Igbo even better than Abakiliki-Igbo. Some Ikwere people say they not Igbo but we all know it's about the politics of Oil. |
