Floods overwhelm University of Agric. Makurdi (Annex) Pre Degree School of Studies [PHOTOS]

The University of Agriculture Makurdi (Annex) Pre Degree School of Studies Campus has been taken over by floods due to the heavy rainfalls the Benue State Capital, Makurdi, witnessed yesterday. Students were seen hanging around this morning as all the access roads to the School Premises and the buildings within the area were flooded.
Motorists are finding it hard to navigate their way due to the water level and pedestrians are unable to pass unaided.
Major streets in Makurdi the Benue State capital are now flooded due to the heavy rain which fell in the night yesterday , August 11, 2015.
Some the affected areas include Wadata Market, Wurukum Market, Shopping Complex along New Bridge Road, among others.
Floods are a constant problem in Makurdi leading the state government to construct water channels in some affected areas within the Makurdi metropolis to curb the menace. However, more efforts still need to be put in place to solve the flooding challange that has become a constant occurrence in many parts of the town.

When we wanted the rains seriously, they were no where to be found. Now that the rains have come, we are experiencing something more than just the rains. Cameroun have just started discharging water from their Dam, by the time it gets to fill River Benue, all of us may get fooded.
