It is very clear that certain members of CAN felt that Bokoharam played well into their narrow minded politics, they taught that each time Bokoharam murdered or maimed a christian in the North, it drove a wedge between muslims and christians living in the North, hence rather than unite with their muslim counterparts they simply decided to allow it fester! |

What kind of dialogue is the Christian leadership supposed to engage in with Muslims when the Muslims leaders have till today refused to accept that boko haram members are Muslims? Muslims leaders and parents in the north have refused to accept that these misguided elements are their children and are representing Islam. Bishop Oritsejafor has been consistent in calling for Muslims leaders to take responsibility for what has become of their children, I think that should be the foundation of any dialogue. Come to think of it what has the peace committee or whatever it's called headed by the Sultan of Sokoto and John Cardinal Onaiyekan achieved? |

vedaxcool:And what have the Muslims themselves done to arrest the situation? You people should stop blaming others and accept responsibility for once. All through BH onslaught against the Nigerian people I haven't seen any decisive and bold attempt Muslims leaders have made to arrest the situation. You may recall the role Niger Delta elders played in stopping militancy not to talk of what Igbo leaders did when Osisikankwu was terrorizing Abia and neighbouring states. |

themaskedman:Did you see blame in my entire post? Muslims leaders have counseled the youths on the fact that the terrorism is not part of Islam, BH retaliated and murder numerous clerics including shiek Jafar, unlike ND whose elders instigated the youths into acts of violence, BH was a product of individuals who thought the normal way muslims in that part of the country operate as being either ancient and not longer relevant or being a system that is unacceptable. The muslim leaders had continued reprimanding such thinking but it is obvious they were dealing with individuals that require a more forceful action, offcourse you can keep living in a world that says muslims have done nothing or the real world that muslims are doing a lot but you choose to ignore. Real reasons muslims do not Condemn Terrorism |

I think the Archhbishop is confused about his faith and basic understanding of nigeria politics which is deeply inter woven with religeon. Is it CAN that is supposed to issue a fatwa against BH? |
