Did you do all of the above in your application? Or do you know anyone that did and was successful with their application?

Sure I know several people that did!
&mind you am not saying, the stuffs I mentioned is what made them got there trv's

There Just ideas he can pick from,

I started in my friends application that he made an android app that the night watch uses to record the details of cars that come late to the community, and as the proprietor of the app he have to be available after every 2years to maintain and update it
I also included the app's apk and raw source code in disc drive

He was going for software engineering
So I hope you get my point

They need more than letter of study leave to believe you're coming back to your job and country

loooool as funny as this is it was actually very helpful. you just gave me more ideas to strengthen my sop further. thankss lool

TACKLING FAMILY TIES
Have you thought of adding
*letter of recommendation from church

*photograph of you and your bae having a nice time, with a writing ' me and my girlfriend' at the back

*make an original print out! With the heading
'Your area developement assosiation '
with the topic of building a gate at the community and development of the street

List the attendees of the event! Make yourself the project manger overseeing the project

Make sure u have an assistant project manager
And list out other positions
Treasurer
Members
Accountant
Other

*make another print out of 'your community development association' acknowledging to your absence and approving it cause it would be more gain to the community if you have international knowledege

*gather some men, and kids, stay on the street n take a picture and write "community development project 2012"

* stand beside electric poles and do the same thing

Ps: make sure all document are signed and dated by any 1

TAVKILING TRAVEL HISTORY
Just that you're applying soon,
I would have advised you sacrifice 5k, goto cotonue, get stamped at the border

Include it in your sop, that you went to oversee a project and you realized you needed more international exposure as the project management world is evolving by the minute

Make sure you tell em to backdate the stamp and spacen the entry and departure (that's if you'll be goin)

Also they are boys that do the whole thing for a fee! You'll get stamped entry and departure of 4 countries (ghana, togo, cote dvoir, benin)
You can always ask around

All that just to tackle TRAVEL HISTORY

Just my idea of showing ties to your home country and development to your environments. As well as relation to your program of study

Your finances are ok!
Just
Don't jampack your SOP with too much details!
It would only show desperacy

More ideas to come soon smiley

Congrats to you sis. How much did she have in her soa and her sponsors? Did she pay upfront tuition?
thesoj:
Ok here's a summary:

SECOND APPLICATION (deferred admission to Jan 2016)
Submitted: July 28 (same upfront medicals)
Approved August 12

For the second application, we bombarded them with like 100 pages of financial documents and then created a one-page Letter of Clarification (different from the SOP) that concisely described the new evidence. In this letter we had a section titled "Reasons for Prior Refusal" and another titled "Substantive Changes in this Application" and then enumerated the changes in this application. In the first app, we had used a printout of the sponsor's online bank statement, and my sis also left blank the box for "room and board" in her Study Permit form. She had added the "room and board" amount and put it the "Other" category. I now believe that it is important to fill the CIC forms as perfectly as possible, to not cause any doubt.

For the second app, we transferred one year's worth of tuition and living expenses to her university student account at Carleton, and attached the receipt. Her sponsor (brother) lives in the US, so this time the sponsorship letter/affidavit were notarized, and original as well as bank-certified bank statements were also sent. We also included a spreadsheet titled "Available Funds vs Annual Expenses" detailing every estimated expense and every fund available. She included her personal SOA as well. Many thanks to @HayqinsbFX for his answers to my questions when I just joined this thread just a month and half ago (the spreadsheet thing was his idea). Many thanks to @standupguy and @ada4all whose gcms files gave initial insight into what the VOs might have been thinking in this "insufficient funds" case. I pray that your applications will get great results as well.

By the way I am so surprised that applications submitted physically in Accra have a much faster processing time (two and half weeks average for both my sis's applications) than ones submitted in Lagos. This is nuts.

FYI I will still be on this thread as I will be helping another sibling with Canada runs. I hope my sister getting her TRV doesn’t hurt his chances o. We go see.

OK, I sort of get your point. My own thing is, many of the ideas you put up there involve adding documents that are either unverifiable or falsified. And that could be a problem.

cheesy i understand you. i firstly said he should spare 5k to goto cotonue, the second option is optional grin , secondly, one of us, one time or the other has added to the community development, so i dont think the cda would have problems giving you a verifiable temporary position, except youre just a bench warmer on ur street

No,it won't end up in a mess.Am of the opinion that you can leave out information bt don't lie about anything. If CIC decides to research on their own,,good and fine. The truth is that more often than not, they use the information you supplied to them.

Look at it this way, if I didn't tell them I have. Abrother in canny, they have a lot to do to prove or get to a conclusion sb else who supplied my name is my brother..

I couldn't agree more with you. I'm of this school of thought that too much information complicates a good application. Try not to make your application complicated, keep it simple and honest.

I studied Architecture in undergrad and currently work as an architect and a construction project manager and I got admitted to a one year course in construction project management at conestoga college. How on earth can you explain a refusal for purpose of visit and proposed length of stay? Even after i attached my portfolio (architectural designs & construction projects) to my application. Dumbas*s Visa officer.

im taking a break to finish my film project (hobby). Would reapply when I'm done

The Nairaland German travel thread will be a better place to ask this question. In any case, my understanding is that south and west Germany are really good places for International students (including Africans). East Germany can be a whole different story however (except maybe Berlin, Leipzig, and a few others). I sometimes follow the Nairaland German thread as I have a family member in Naija also eyeing it as a backup plan to Canada. Plus Germany has no tuition and they require you have just 8040 Euros per year for living expenses. Also international students have work permits, just like in Canada. And I hear it is easy to get a work permit and job after graduation especially if you are in the sciences or engineering.

Germany has many English language masters programs, but much fewer such undergrad programs except in a few science subjects. Go to daad.de/en and search. The German thread is incredibly good... the ogas there like @eke40seven (he is doing his MSc in Germany) will answer your questions.

I tried Canada with no positive outcome on visa. I was suppose to pay 14 dollars school fees in Canada. When somebody told me I can even study in Germany with English and is 100% free of charge plus free public transport and train, I rush apply for German student visa and admission and today I have no regret. I work and send money home rather than using the money to pay school fees. Information is power.

Nigerians in Norway are few, and you'll want to avoid countries like that.
Germany is better, but there is language barrier and like you said racism is a major problem especially for a minor

If you have the funds you can seek admission in LITHUANIA:
kaunas university of technology

IRELAND:
griffith college dublin
national university of ireland

LONDON:
london metropolitan university

...if you pay your fees, you'll have little problems

BUT

My best advise is to tackle the problems you have with CIC and refire, you have a upper hand

Get a Mentoring Service from
www.sasscanada.com

Get a detailed SOP with a long term prospect
Just let us know if you really wish to REFIRE,, we'll help you with your documentation

Ps: avoid using agent, most re inexperienced
Good Luck

I am studying in German and have also visited Canada from here. Stop all this racism talk which i have never experience here. Canada that is not racist why have they not given you free tuition like Germany?

I lamented this PGD discrimination, I just might have been vindicated.
I believe a new protocol was introduced for PGD Applicants from fall applicants.

The Germans are taking over our Canada thread o, nah just kidding. @Futurewiser and @eke40seven -- thanks to you guys for dropping by and commenting here; you guys are doing a great job on the German thread. From stealthily reading the German visa thread I have learned that it is an excellent place. My bro will try Germany if Canada visa doesn't work out.

@HaykinsbFX, her approval email was sent yesterday (12th), but the PDF document stating approval was dated August 11th.

@omooba2015 @SeraSera @TheBae @Inkblood @dallydd thanks for the congratulations.

@favour0011, I will post more details about the documents in a few hours.

@standupguy thanks bro. Yes o, na MSc. @MichaelFinn posted earlier about getting admission to uOttawa MSc with a low 2:2 BSc CGPA. My bro also has a 2:2 CGPA and he will be applying for a visa with a PGD admission… but @MichaelFinn is proof that admission to MSc is still possible, I can imagine his MSc application SOP was really good though, because I read his TRV SOP and it was excellent and easy to read.

Our fellow Nigerians are the ones closing the door on genuine students and this really pains.

The rate at which Nigerians with study visa defer admission to January just to work some more is alarming and colleges have called attention of CIC to it.

Personally I fully support the removal of work permit for students while they study if that will lessen their strong stance in issuing study visa.

But I fully support the postgraduate work permit program which I feel should be upheld.
A student that have studied fully has the right to stay back and work to either get experience or make some money.
