I'm an ND 2 student of mass communication, but whenever I tell someone that I'm a communicator there reaction is always that of contempt which I don't understand since mass communication has more than 9 different fields a communicator can work in. Is it that the rate of employment is low for the course or that people simply underrate it. please your comments are needed because I'm beginning to consider applying for direct entry to study another course |

Because of the adjective 'mass'. Mass unemployment, mass illiteracy, mass poverty, mass etc. |

Hello! it was nostalgic reading your post, don't mind the nay sayers. I'm also studying mass communication. Thought it was'nt my first option, found myself here buy now falling in love with the course and have started putting things in motion for a career after graduation. crate:U r studying MassCom dat shouldn't confine u to bin a communicator. Do a soul-searching to come out wit a career path u want to take in line wit ur course of study. Then seek d necessary skills required to succeed in such career & u will b fine. If only i know wat i know today b4 now. I'm also a Mass Communication student. Do not mind the nay sayers bro. Mass Comm is a very nice course that involves a lot of creativity. I don't know how much emphasis your school lays on Research courses but believe me, Try to be very good in media and communication research and you will be awe by the kind of opportunities that await you.
