He bound her hands and gagged her. Then he knelt beside the bed and prostrated himself in prayer before getting on top of her.

When it was over, he knelt to pray again, bookending the rape with acts of religious devotion.

“I kept telling him it hurts — please stop,” said the girl, whose body is so small an adult could circle her waist with two hands. “He told me that according to Islam he is allowed to ràpe an unbeliever. He said that by raping me, he is drawing closer to God,” she said in an interview alongside her family in a refugee camp here, to which she escaped after 11 months of captivity.

How do you explain the numerous references to the phrase " Those your right arm possesses" in the Quran, which traditionally has been understood to mean female slaves. Then look at the fact that even until recently the Saudis were still using islam a basis to regulate slavery.

No different from the acts whites committed during colonization of african lands and the trans-atlantic slave trade.

This news has been trending all over today and i'm actually surprised the New York Times printed this piece or allowed it to be printed.
Reading the comments on some papers, a few more people have done the hard work of moving their mouse with their hands and googled the Quranic passages (4:3, 4:24 and 33:50) and become more knowledgeable as a result instead of just accepting the normal liberal spin that ISIS are not muslims.

I expect the usual dissimulation that follows (context, interpretation, and "do you speak Arabic" wink

or as one commenter tried to do some moral equivalence (christians do it to look at Numbers 31).
