onoms4luv: Try using another ISP... incase you r using Simple Server... get another Internet and try again maybe on another computer |

pls i design a website on local server a month ago, just remain to host it, but unfortunately my system contaced virus which affects all my files including my xampp. now am trying to design a new one. i downloaded xampp and word press. after the installation, i want to install the plugin (Sympossium), it says the file exceed the upload_max_....... which i later corrected, another problem arise after the installing when i want to activate it, it says it could not be activated, it triggered a fatal error. pls kindly assist me. thanks |

simplistical: this is what you need: https://wordpress.org/plugins/megamenu/ dont forget to watch the tutorial view for its many capabilities. You can achieve whatever kind of mega menu even with your existing theme using this plugin |

kombo: Should I guess that using these solutions they put here require a developer because I didn't know how to implement these changes/fixes. Secondly I used google analytics by Yoast for tracking traffic but although I followed instructions for authentication using my gmail address it still says authentication required. Ayudarme por favor Help me please. |

salsera: Hi salsera, You dont need to be a developer. You just need to have an interest to know what exactly is going on and wrong or right as the case may be. See 1) the first option under "consider fixing" you'll find information about your landing home page picture. Your home page image is too large. This image(below) is 2.5MB in size http://yourdomainhere.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/JWP_BIOGEN_BYGRAVE_FEB2015_P1LO-RES.jpg thats a thumbs down as far as google or any web-speed analysis tool is concerned. Thank God you dont have a slide show with about 10-images of same size, your size would just kaput. Download the image, reduce the size and re-upload(to replace the former image). If you are using windows, use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to reduce the size of your picture / any image to be used for your website. tutorial: http://www.marywood.edu/web/content-editors/tutorials/resizing/picture-manager.html - use web (640x400) option the file-size of that image should be less than 30KB 2) minify css / javascript, html: try this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-minify/ 3) User experience.. ...consider fixing, Size content to viewport - i think your theme should have a boxed view, use that instead. here are the msgs: If you click the "see screenshot", and look at the mobile-phone screen, you'll see what is being referred to: The tap target <a href="http://www.facebook.com"></a> is close to 1 other tap targets see screenshot. - this means the Fb-icon is too small (mobile view). Same would go for the other icons. The tap target <a href="http://yourdomain…x.php/contact/">CONTACT</a> is close to 1 other tap targets show original. - this means the contact us link is also too small on mobile view The tap target <a href="http://yourdomain…ex.php/tag/uk/" class="tag-link-15">UK</a> is close to 1 other tap targets. tonyx4x44: - dont just do a google-image search, right click on an image and "save as" to somewhere on your computer. Go to the site where the image is found, and read if there are any copyright notices. - there are images, there are pictures. there are clip-art, - always credit sources - also have a disclaimer on your site telling visitors that you source your images/pictures from the internet, so if they feel you have infringed on their privacy, they should contact you to notify you of the image and that you would do your best to clarify issues and "remove if necessary". The idea is to project yourself as willing to cooperate. regards HK |

hostkobo:boss, two questions: 1. What if i download these copyright photos and cut, join and do general editing using photoshop, even adding my own text. Will i still be penalised for copyright violations? 2. In blogger, if i use their own domain (.) and later go and buy a .com, they will still host my site (.com) for free. Is it same with wordpress? Or if i buy a .com, i'll also buy a host? |

kingstylo01: re-#1) if you download the copyrighted photos, cut and join, photoshop and gimp and paint, and add your own text, YES, you have still STOLEN and infringed on someone elses' copyright why? there are a 1000+1 ways to know where your photo came from. There are applications and tools (free and commercial) online and offline that can crawl the internet and look for similar pictures with yours, analyze the pictures and give concrete information as to what the original information (text, graphics, video, etc) is. re#2) always bear in mind that FREE is not always FREE. There is always a catch. They will do somethings for you, but you also give off some of your own rights. I have plenty issues.. To start with, I use the genesis theme The site is http://www.nawesabi.com (help review and tell me what needs to be added and removed) 1) I like to have a header banner. I created one but it's not displaying the full width of the header. I only saw part of the created banner. 2) I like to have my own favicon.. How do I insert it (on the genesis theme pls) 3) What social media sharing platform or pluging would you recommend? (I use jetpack and I can't get that shii to display sharing icons when I check out my site on mobile) 4) Mailchimp is damn confusing. People subscribe to my blog and on my dashboad, all I could see is just "1" subscriber being displayed! 5) Help us address the issue of traffic please. It's not encouraging for new bloggers atall 6)What image size would you recommend for a blog post for genesis? I use 1400x1000 (about 130kb and around) |

Use nice image editors that can "save for web". Ideally, any image you use should be about 23kb each; so your 130kb should be the file size for about 6-images reagrds, HK |
