This laughable attempt at saving face is not going to work... How about fibbing this rubbish to the loved ones of those whose lives have been ritually cut off as part of the burial rites of the late Ooni? May Be they would prefer your head in Ooni's tomb instead of this cover up.

My brother I am asking out of 100% ignorance.

Is that shid for real. What is your source?

Really. Damn too long epistle. Can someone give me a summary
It's called History and what He's written is very educative/informative.

This generation is too much in a hurry to move ahead but there is no future without. HISTORY....It's looks easy and valueless to you who don't appreciate History but not a lot of people including some Yorubas know this.
BTW I not Yoruba or a historian, I am an Engineer who likes to learn!

When I talk, I use the audibility shape of my mouth. I do not open my mouth like a village crocodile hunter on a mission. By the way, did you call me illiterate and ignorant, yet you cant spell ? Your diction smells like palm oil soup. I pray you get buried alive with the next Oba at his demise.

Congratulations for not only sounding illiterate but also primitive.

With your loose mouth, just go for a thanks giving that this is happening via the internet.

Sh*t is very real.... These head hunters prowl dark alleyways and bush paths during curfew, and when 'business' is very slow, just after curfew. They are ritually empowered with charms, amulets and elaborate cutlasses etched with ritual embellishments..... Their faces are masked with elaborate chalk tatoo, you couldnt even tell friend's face or a foe.... Very fetish and dastardly acts have been perpetrated these past few weeks in Ife... We dont see how Oonis rest in peace when souls are forcefully sent into oblivion on the dead chiefs behalf.

Too late at face saving crap. We non yorubas don't even know what abobaku means, it is yoloba word and d meaning says it all.

What is d curfew for n why is the burial enshrewed in such secrecy that only few fellow ogboni chiefs witness it? What are they hiding?

Even the burial of a general demands certain rites. When the monarch of England dies certain rites are called, when the pope dies certain rites are called

Ooni to yorubas is after the Gods, so the burial rites oof the man standing as Ooni cannot be opened to every Tom Dck and Harry like you

So the Yorubas were so barbaric right from the 17th century. No wonder they love palm oil and opening their mouths when they talk. They should kindly abolish this nonsense. It is too shameful.

U said abobaku used to be Aremo (the Prince). The other man called abobaku "Saarun". U said abobaku never practise in Ife. The other man said it has been stopped in Ife longtime ago. Guys ur hands are not clean ok. u people should give ur life to Christ and stop worshiping blood sucking gods. Oshun people are known for fetish things. u see young boys and girls celebrating Oshun Osogbo festival.

This story makes,it was a practice that happened in the past among established African traditional dynasties, but nobody will dare do it now. Though we have ritualists in Nigeria who thinks they can be elevated powerfully by killing their fellow humans for rituals, but most traditional homes like the oni's are way too into the world to be engaged in that kind of despicable act.

It is a wild rumour that spreads whenever any prominent traditional ruler in the south moves on. And it should be something crews like national geographic should investigate, since we don't have archeologists in Nigeria,to know whether it actually happened in past. At the moment it is just a dreadful story that has never been ascertain. The story of us that nwver tells us anything tangible about past, because we never take time to investigate.
