A Chairmanship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eredo LCDA, Comrade Ogunkelu Oluwaseun Oluwadahunsi, has called for special programmes in the country that would take care of children of indigent parents roaming about the streets.

He made the call in Lagos recently.

According to the chairmanship aspirant, the children roaming about the streets are the children of the poor and there is nothing the parents can do about it because of their financial position.

He said, “Their plight was not their making or the making of their parents but a clear manifestation of decay in the system.

“They are not our making but the situation we found ourselves in the country.

“It is a very serious issue and there is the need for a programme that will take care of them because such children are now ready-made weapons for violence.”

Comrade Ogunkelu also known as Sketel, urged UNICEF to organise a forum where stakeholders would be invited to discuss issues concerning girl-child education in the country.

The aspirant further tasked the Fund to focus more on teachers’ training, saying, “Our problems are basically the lack of qualified teachers and facilities.”

Comrade Ogunkelu also hinted that " this issue and implementation is part of my campaign organisation mission". He stressed that Eredo LCDA will be an improved LCDA very soon.

Nice one Sir... very true. No one seems to remember those kids roaming in the streets begging..
But I still wish that there will be programs to reach to the core rural areas on sensitization of family planning and need to control bringing kids into the world to suffer especially having kids roaming every year by one person alone.

Don't forget that those Hausa kids seem to enjoy begging... with their parents so they refuse any other type of help
