Nairaland doesn't need to pay nobody. It is very good to be always relevant. I believe that Corruption will stop in Nigeria whenever NASS and not Mr. President decides to stop it. This is Democracy. NASS represents all. Mr. President, in himself, represents his party.

I never imagined that the people that will fight against the war on corruption are struggling young Nigerians that have been the direct victims of corruption itself.

OP, what you fail to understand is that corruption is systematic. Nobody decieves themselves that corrupt individuals can be suddenly healed of their vice, the objective is dismantling the system that fosters and propagates corruption.

For example, if the procedure for awarding contracts is streamlined such that only companies proven to be independent of government officials benefit, will the new policy not affect all governors and ministers regardless of their party affiliation?

Does the new CBN policy to mitigate money laundering not affect both PDP and APC members? Can any APC politician launder money the way they used to before when the outflow of foreign currency was not regulated?

This is the crux of the issue, everything else is pure sentiments and opposition politics.

innovation:
It is said that when the foundation of a building is faulty, it affects the building in general, this very article is centered on the impossibility of fighting corruption to zero level in the administration of president mohamadu buhari. The fight against corruption is one of the major fight which is critical to our Infrastructural, religious, ethnic, national and socio-economic development, but the most important question is? who will fight this menace called corruption to finish, without compromising his or her standard.
President muhamadu buhari has already failed in the fight against corruption because he allowed many demon which exists in human form to fed him with their golden spoon full of sugar coated words and money during the period of his campaign .
It will be foolheady and unrealistical for anybody or group of individual to believe that Nigeria is going to be corruption free in the administration of president mohammadu buhari because his conscience has been sold for an unnegotiated deal and the resultant effect of that transaction is fatal to the nation because of the compromise that will be involved on the fight against corruption.
However, It is worthy of note, for Nigerians to realize that the root of corruption lies in the APC and with this in mind the people of Nigeria should also know that it will be a very difficult task to eradicate corruption without starting the crusade from the APC members because in there lies the cabals that ate Nigeria up and defected to the the opposition party to shield them self from being tracked down by the law.
The fund used to finance president buhari's campaign was from the party members which was stolen from the state treasury, but the impression that was made to the public is that the whole money was a loan gotten from the bank and individual contribution but that sound so childish because it is crystal clear how everything happened and how the money for the campange was gotten. So to tell Nigeria otherwise doesn't make sense.
It is a fact well known by many Nigerians, that most of the wealthy personalities, who defected to the APC are members of the people democratic party, which the APC initially claim are corrupt, but because they are now members of the party they no longer see them as corrupt but saint.
If the fight against corruption is to be effective I think the fight should start from Buhari who made many state government to empty their state treasury for his election campaign, many state government who did not pay the salaries of their workers are mainly APC states and you can see how this development helped in dealing with civil servant, that is why PMB released the bail out funds for the state so as to cover some the actions that will be used against him. Many people see that single action as a humanitarian gesture but honestly the reverse Is the case.
What about those that emptied their state funds to sponsor him during the period of election? the likes of Amechi, Tunibu, Rochas, Atiku, Kwankwaso, Obasanjo and the others who are involved in corruption scandals. These group of people should be arrested and made to face the law instead of accommodating them as party members and not doing the right thing that are required by the law.
If PMB fails to look into the files of his party members who are the leading figures in Nigeria corruption evaluation table, then that is the beginning of the disaster in fighting corruption.
If the only administraton that will be probe, is the administration of GEJ, without extending it to the former administrations then it will be a total waste of time because the pillars of corruption will not be made to vomit the country looted funds they stole from the country, it is unconstitutional for PMB to probe only GEJ administration, what happens to the administration of Obasanjo,Atiku,Abdusalam,IBB etc. Those peoples administration should equally be probe and if found guilty be brought to book and face the law.
Why did PMB not declare his asset to public? Have you taken your time to xray the reason he changed his mind suddenly, there is something fishy about that sudden change. If buhari is a saint let him declare his asset so as for us to fathom the truth or lie from what he told Nigeria during the period of his campaign. Let him come out and declear his asset to Nigeria.
The EFCC has now turn to an instrument in the hand of PMB and the APC to witch hunt their opposition and those who are not in any way loyal to them. This agence is supposed to be allowed to carry out its function instead of being influence by the president.
The general public has lost confidence in the EFCC because they have being diluted with corrupt politician even since the Administration of 0bansajo.
PMB won this election under the platform of fraud even in his home state there were series of under age voting and he did not react to that instead he accepted the election and walk into ASO rock without remenbering the promise he made to Nigeria. I expected him based on the integrity people proclaim he has to cancel the elections in those areas so as to make us see him as an incorruptible officer.
Finally it is written that "He who comes into equity must come
with clean hands." So buhari is not a saint let him face his administration and start work immediately instead of traveling and giving us excuses on a daily bases. I rest my CASE.
