Am a graduate of sociology 2.1 just wondering were I will fit, all the post I see don't fit in with my field of study. Please advice needed

Dear, don't worry, success in life is not always about what we read, but luck and hard work! Just try and go for certification in conflict management and other related professional courses. While studying for your certification, you can volunteer for an NGO in order to gain experience. With this in your kitty, you can be employed in NGOs that deal on humanitarian issues. Goodluck

I also don't know, maybe u become a social/ humanitarian worker or further studies so u can carry out research on domestic abuse. E. T. C.
But seriously? If even u a graduate of the course doesn't know who else will know?
I think some courses aren't suitable to be taught as major considering the current state of our economy

then go back to the uni. & ask the Dean student affaires. dnt disturb us here

anyway, apply for lecturing in thesame university, thesame faculty for thesame course, otherwise my hand no dey ooo

Sociologist often work in the HR dept of most companies. Always focus on HR job.

Sorry, you are a product of failed educational system in Nigeria. If a so called 2:1 Sociology graduate don't know where a sociologist fit in the society, then there is a problem.

So how did you get your 2:1 na by dash or you are from UNIPORT with PhD but no paper in the case of GEJ. On a lighter mood you can teach Social study, Civics and Government angry angry . You need to think of social problem to solve. Crime in the society, rape etc and build a biz round it

well dt is wat d socitey turns to. Dont blame him much. Next time dont go for dt course, even not all d lecturers can fully answer d question, dt is y u see dem too in lecturing job. Dis is my answer, cos am a sociologist too. In my opinion u are a sociologist dt study society in ur discipline. U shuld know aw to study society both of d past and present, d changes, and d trend. U shuld know aw human being relate both individually and in groups. If u no all dis and understand it very well. U will no wat d society lack, den u can provide it for human being to survive, and u get monetory return, consequently u become an enterpreneure. But if u want to folow d footpath of others and remain d same, u may start pursuing career in HR, lecturing, force, and teaching. Good day

Exactly! Some courses have little or no chance in a country like Nigeria. They do not fit in at all.

Exactly my thought and what I wanted to post. How could someone have gone through the rigour of a four-year program without discovering who he's & where he's going? Little wonder many graduates are no longer employable.
