laurel03:But if it was finished, your senile Prof. Osinbajo would be staying in a N7billion mansion and you will be happy. Nigerians think in reverse. Thank God GEJ refused to approved the variation, we're a very wasteful nation. |

Udmaster:Nothing is stationary in corrupt Nigeria, they budget money to replace and re do everything every year. Computers and other office products gets replaced every year just to keep awarding contracts and looting.. They re do re equip everything every year like even the VP's or the president's kitchen just to award contract and loot. They hardly hand over their government issued accommodations to the next government official, they monetize it by buying the houses from the government for little or nothing while they re ward contracts to provide accommodation for the next government official.. Under jonathan, it was very sad, it was a free for all daylight looting and stealing from top to bottom. Imagine government missions abroad where they have stable electricity 24/7 budgeting money for generators and fuel every year, some budgeting for railway repairs and boats in landlocked places like mali and so on. One thing they don't spend money on is institutional repairs. You go to some government buildings and you see sign post outside bent or almost knocked over even thought the director drives through the same gate every morning, fading paint, shabby looking building with broken windows, bad light bulbs.. Our problem goes beyond corruption.... |

Sheggy13:Are you ashamed of identifying with your people ? Almost all your posts on Nairaland even pre-election was about how good Buhari's APC is and how evil GEJ's PDP was, so need dissociating yourself from who you absolutely support. Be proud of your party of liars! |

Dominionng:To be fair, Will's home is mostly wood and plywood, with little concrete, which is why they burn so well. The VP's home is entirely concrete and concrete blocks. That alone can double or triple the base price. All other materials are also likely imported, which will add 50% or more to the base cost. I agree the contract for the VP's residence is inflated, but just food for thought... |

OrlandoOwoh:Hope you read that the contract was approved in 2009. Again, did you read this part: "Despite the Senate Committee’s position, the former FCT Minister presented a memo to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) but ex-President Jonathan said the nation cannot afford 120 per cent variation". |

ILIDEFI:Was Jonathan not the Vice President from 2007 to around 2009 when he became the acting President? Wouldn't he have been the first beneficiary of the edifice if it's completed in time? |
| Re: N7bn Gone As VP’s New Residence Is Abandoned - TheNation by Nobody: 9:59pm On Aug 17, 2015 |
OrlandoOwoh:There is a world of difference between president and vice president, and that's why nobody remembers Sambo when the ills of the past administration are being discussed. Whether he was going to be the beneficiary or not, he didn't sign the contract. |

ILIDEFI:The government that ran from 1975 to 1979 in most books are referred to Murtala/Obasanjo's regime, not Murtala's regime (1975 to 1976) and Obasanjo (1976 to 1979). Why? Obasanjo, the Chief of Staff Supreme Headquarters, continued the regime when Murtala died. Yar'Adua/Jonathan ran a joint ticket in 2007 to 2010 when Yar'Adua died. Jonathan became the acting President in February 2010 when Yar'Adua was sick. Why didn't he terminate the contract signed just a year ago in 2009? Was it because he was selfish that as the VP, he would be the first beneficiary? The US VPs has been pairing with the US Navy in the Naval Observatory for more than 100 years, why is wrong with the Aguda House currently used by our own VP? |
