But only true and fiscal federalism can stop corruption in high places in Nigeria, not the present fire brigade approach to stopping corruption which Sultan of Sokoto is prescribing. In our present political system, too much power and Money are controlled by a few persons at the centre, and the few persons are far away from the masses, hence they can not account for the people. Above all, in a true federation, the law enforcement agencies arrest and prosecute corrupt people, not the president. |
