I No Longer Have Patience For Nigeria's Politicians. by Dlionsheart: 11:19am On Aug 18, 2015
Meryl Streep quoted these as words she lives by; and they largely resonate with me, or at least for the most part:

“I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I’ve become arrogant, but simply because I reached a point in my life where I do not want to waste more time with what displeases me or hurts me. I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me. I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate. I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that’s why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience.”

Update: originally written by José Micard Teixeira.

The above quotes aptly captured the current Nigeria situation or call it state of the nation where we no longer want to waste time on wiping away corruption, boko haram, nepotism, ethnicity, tribalism, religious & tribal war, godfatherism, politics of bitterness and the like from our national life knowing that this evil forces is fast destroying us beyond repair.

Nigerians expresses their displeasure on social media about cynics and excessive criticism on past and present administration and its policies everyday.

My patience born-out this morning for our politicians on some insensitive, jejune and an immature comments credited to Dr. Junaid Mohammed sent on my facebook page by a friend:

"If the igbo feel marginalised they should attempt to break away again. If they do they should prepare for the consequences. No one owes them anything and no one is out to compensate them for anything"- Dr. Junaid Mohammed.

If its true, Junaid Mohammed has forgotten that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere in the world.

I am not patient with the pretense, deceit and denial of the sufferings and pains of the poor masses and minority tribes in Nigeria.

I am no longer patient with the wide gap between the rich and the poor.

I am not patient with politicians still promising electricity and water in their campaign from 1999 till date.

I am running out of patient with president buhari's style of government without key appointments like SGF, ministers and advisers months after swearing-in.

Fellow nairalanders, can you share with us what exactly is borning your patience here in Nigeria.

The first thing i plan to do is what i am doing now: expressing my displeasure. You can call it intellectual revolution or a non violent revolution.

To worm heads in nairaland who will take you as a PDP or GEJ fan? Anyway, keep expressing your displeasure it is a good one instead of sitting silent in the face of tyranny.
