Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital yesterday, August 17, witnessed another step in infrastructural transformation as the state government commenced the dualization of Awedele – Bank Road – Bashiri Road in Ado Ekiti.

This was one of the election campaign promises of Governor Ayodele Fayose to the people of the state.
The governor took to his Twitter handle to make this disclosure as he also announced work is currently on-going at Elegberun Modern Market project, Ikere Ekiti.

I am not sure you are getting my point. Rivers state was owing before Wike came to borrow 30bn in 30 days. My question to you is this, how much has these states you mentioned borrowed in this new dispensation. It will be beneficial if you could reel out figures than the estimations you are making at the moment

1)Wike is in his term unlike those APC governors you mentioned...

2)Those APC governors already accumulated sooooooooo much debt that they can't borrow again... like Rochas & Aregbesola that has been blacklisted by CBN...

3)Rivers state was almost collapsing with no judiciary and legislature and backlog of salary arrears running close to a year...

4)Rivers state was looted dry under Amechi who built ONE pillar for 100million...including his Ebola looting spree too...

5)Wike debt was domestic borrowing which is not as harmful as foreign loan if judiciously used...

6)Given realities on ground as at today, Rivers state is still economically more viable than Imo, Ogun, Oyo, Osun etc you listed...taking cognizance of their debt obligations vis a vis economic opportunities for growth & development including revenue generation...

7)Time of borrowing doesn't change anything... Wike needed urgent fund to rescue his state from the doldrums...

U know sometimes I keep thinking... ekiti and Osun basically depend on federal allowance...what is it that game that Fayose is playing, why is it that his state never go broke..while osun keeps roaming on financial mess

that is because osun has over 60,000 work force while ekiti has less than 10,000 work force.

Fayose inherited 3months backlog and have cleared every thing and paid salaries up to date.

All these within the same period, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Imo states are owing salaries ranging from 4 - 6months

Liar! Fayose is still owing august and September 2014 workers salary.

He was not the Governor until Oct 16.. Fayemi went away with August allocation which was meant to pay September salary. This is the only outstanding salary for state workers.. Local Government workers are not owe by the state..

We are happy for the choice we made..

To buttress my point, Aregbe said he didn't need federal allocation for payment of salaries. When the price of oil crashed, he said he didn't know how to tackle state financial difficulties.

. Please don't say he has paid salaries uptodate. The corp members that served in that state which I happened to be one of them, I haven't been paid my state allowance of 50thousand naira. I'm not the only one involved, batch c of 2014- batch b of 2015. We are been owed our promised state allowance.
