Onne (Rivers), Aug. 14, 2015 (NAN) The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas, on Friday pleaded for the unflinching loyalty and support of service personnel for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking at the passing out ceremony and commissioning of 25 Special Duty Commission Cadets at the Nigerian Navy College, Onne in Rivers, Ibas said that such loyalty was needed for security operations in the country.

``It is very important for personnel to exhibit total and unflinching loyalty to the nation, service and the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

``This unflinching loyalty will engender harmonious relationships and impact positively on the nation's development drive and the society at large," he said.

Ibas said that efforts were underway to provide weaponry, infrastructure and other facilities in training schools and colleges to enhance the quality of training and retraining of personnel.

He said his administration would give priority to the welfare and wellbeing of personnel with the aim of motivating the officers and ratings for security operations.

The navy chief urged the 25 newly commissioned cadets to maintain the tenets of civil-military cooperation and standard, adding that discipline, hard work and commitment must be the watchword of the cadets. (NAN)

Weight will be checked of course. However, there is no generally accepted weight. It depends on your height. Thus, they will check both weight and height to get your BMI. This is calculated as weight divided by square of ur height in metres. Unit is Kg/sq metre. Normal range is 18.5 to 24.9
If you get a value above that, my brother start losing weight now.

Pls there is nothing like DSS. It is DSSC. That is one of thr two ways the Navy recruits into its officers corps. The other way is via NDA regular commission. So pls be guided on the info u giv the public.

Just got info that the intake this year will only be about 52 persons, reason being that the DSSC officers are now more than the regular NDA officers, so they plan to bridge that gap. Before u all crucify me, am just reporting wat i was told by a senior officer.

Bros this is not a funny issue. Left to me am not too sure its gonna be possible like that, they may probably take 5 per state.

Fellow Officers in the making, pls calm ur nerves. There are regular cadets from NDA at Onne at present who will be commissioned on September 19, that is, jst next month. I dont think the names will be out until they leave Onne. Now, this is a fact and not on hear-say. By God's grace I'll be in Kaduna to celebrate with a friend on his Passing Out Parade (POP). If u take any form of hard drugs, stop it now cos ur blood will be tested. Stay fit by exercising and Pray to God for His face to shine on u. All the best to all of us!

Cadets don't train at jaji, they used to train together at NDA old site in Kawo but they've been separated.

Separated to where? Where did the previous dssc 2013 do their own training?

Those who applied in 2013 & passed out in march trained for 9 months at Onne for the very first time. NN DSSC never trained at Jaji, NA DSSC does that. They used to train along side NA SSC at NDA old sit Kaduna until things changed with this last course.

As for last set that's course 22 they went for interview February....though i heard there was logistic issues..and they were the 1st set to do their interview and later training at onne not the NDA as usual. but we believe the names will be out september.
