Boss, after the rent you have paid for expires, scout around. Make some friends. Tell them your predicament, you might be lucky to find a good person that will help to find a cheaper rent for you. One thing I have learned here in US is that if you don't ask questions, you get stuck and no help will be rendered.
Thanks boss, classea are yet to start, sure i'll do that.

Boss, if I get you right, you are referring to feeling sleepy in the morning or afternoon? I do experience such too. I think is because the body system is trying to adjust to the weather. With time, we will adjust and adapt. It's just thermodynamics and weather variation.

Good morning all, I actually got admission into University of New orleans becos of the cheap tuition fee. But, recently dscovered my fiancee in texas (schooling) and her family are there too. Now, i am thinking if i finally get the fi visa would it be possible for me not to report in New orleans at all and negotiate my way into another school and program in Texas? atleast to cut accomodation cost. Like if am opting for a college degree as against a university masters captured on my i20. Anticipating a response.

Thanks all.

A question: As an F-1 student if i break a lease agreement of an apartment, like moving out of the house before the lease expires, what would be the penalty for that. Would i ever get my security deposit back?
F1 student or not, you break an agreement then it's a bad one

In Texas, if you break a lease, you will be made to pay for the remaining months and sometimes forfeit your deposit. The money is so much that you wont have any choice than to stay back or sublet the apartment.

If you move out of the house without notifying the leasing agent, it will go on your record and it will be so hard to get anOther apartment.

I don't know how it works in other states but I know breaking a lease is a huge game. My advice is sign. 3 mth or 6mths lease and you can move later in peace.

This one is even an oncampus hosuing for the college and it spans for one year.
If i run, they wont see my break light again, they might even report me to the school, before they do, i would transfer

I dont even think i can sublet the apartment, cos they always do constant checkups on the students living the oncampus apartments.

To add to this, akin3102 for example in my field ie the pharmaceutical industry, Canada is dead in that regard . There are virtually no reputable pharma firms in Canada. Zero. Zilch. Nada. So if I run to Canada because I want to get PR quickly. After PR what next? Hunger? Poor career mobility and improvement.

Weather, stricter graduate funding, higher cost of living, higher taxes await you in Canada. I guess that's the downturn of having an easier path to PR.

Ita not easy anywhere bro.

Actually there's a scientific explanation.
Your biological body clock is still set to Nigerian time so it'll take a while for you to readjust that clock to the US time.

Good Morning House, hope everyone is doing okay, please i want to find out when is the best time to start preparing to transfer to another school is it after semester results are out? Or as soon as possible. Cause i want to transfer out of my school to a cheaper school. Thank you all, please i await your kind responses.
It obviously depends in the sense that some schools do request for a certain amount of money before they could release you, eg, Valpo. While some will ask you to finish a semester first, then others won't release you at all.

But all in all, do not give your school the impression that you want to change if you're still in Nigeria otherwise they will not be happy because it's like use and dump.

Thank You. I tried to be as objective as possible so that it won't look like I'm condemning Canada in favor of America. My advisor's exact words during the interview was "Canada is not for the young who are just trying to start their careers. It's very very good for retirement and not for career starting. There is lesser possibility of changing jobs easily like it is done in America because many people tend to hold on to their jobs and not move. Thereby positions don't open often for people to get hired".

This is someone that lived in Canada for at least 15 years, he told me his first two kids were born there too. Canada is a large country but small in population in compared to the U.S. Which means lesser jobs. I'm not in any way saying people don't get jobs in Canada but the more population, the more the available jobs. I can't deal with the weather too. I regretted dressing for summer from the U.S the cold was another story. And in May oo. Lol. But thats just me Sha. Some people don't mind

You cannot get a student visa for a part time MBA as part time MBAs are designed for people who are working full time hence you would need to already be working in the U.S. And preferably close to the school to get admitted.

Full time MBAs have lower acceptance rates as there are a lot more people applying especially international students, while part time MBAs by nature attract a smaller pool of applicants as you need to be living and working in the area hence why the acceptance rate is higher.

Deciding full time or part time should also depend on your post MBA plans. Demand for full time is highbecause it is used to change careers especially into industries like investment banking and consulting, and it provides an avenue for international students to get jobs with companies who can sponsor them for work permits. Part time is for people who want to progress in their current companies or industries rather than full career changers.

teelekan:
Hello everyone.

I found that part-time MBAs have a higher acceptance rate plus most of the full time MBAs are either too expensive or only take students for fall semester. However, it's like you can't get an F1 visa on a part-time course.

Who has any information or can shed more light on MBAs/visas?

The way the Indians and Chinese cater for themselves in Universities in US is amazing. They even keep study materials for themselves that new student(Chinese or Indian) doesn't need to worry about study materials. They pave way for themselves. They are like swarms. That's why they do excellently well in here. Right information is power.

Indians n Chinese have forums on facebook, they pick new students from Airports, provide temporary accomodation for them free for 3 days, and also help them to look for accomodation. After staying 4 days in Hotel, met a Nigerian and Senegalese in an apartment, wanted to join. Oh boy, see interrogation like I b criminal.. Nobody tell me, I use compass locate 1 chinese student wey even get ride to take me places free. Ghanians here are even far more friendly than the Nigerians....
