As a neutral party sir, I would say those allegations were weighty considering this is a public forum. But, do you know that the teacher(s) might have served under the thieving principal. You stated that you took over last year, so, obviously he was not referring to you.

It is so sad that people we trust often end up disappointing us. That thief should be found and arrested. My humble piece.

Is it advisable to pick up a job with a new school that has little or no students at d moment, though d skul is visionary and in no distance time the skul wil boom.
From the look of things, there is 80% assurance dt d mgt has saved up some cash 4 d running cost(salary, rents, bills n other miscellaneous expenses).
There's room for individual devt and great exposition in d new skul. The skul pay is 31.25% higher than his current pay, but his scared they don't come up with flimsy excuses when there's delay in payment.
He's at crossroad either to pick up d offer or not.

This is related to mine...I went for test, interview and micro teaching on Monday in a new school. We were tested on written-oral english, current affairs, mathematics, how to prepare lesson notes, letter writing etc whereby all was done within two hours except interview. From my little observations, probably, I'll be the best candidate from what I saw that I got prior interview viz 39/50 = 78% .Initially, I applied as a subject teacher but due to my performance it's about to be converted to administrative roles because that was what my interview was based on.

My question now is do you think I can be employed as headmaster or deputy headmaster as the case may be due to my presumed startling performance?

Your are the bomb. It is official Makazona is our correspondent reporting from Bayelsa.
Thank you.

*Grabs the Mic*

Alright.

In Bayelsa, Belary Schools, Ayakpo Schools, Faith Comprehensive Sec. school (FACISS), Winners Academy(Not owned by Winners church o), Bieodomo Schools, Divine Comprehensive, New Total Child Academy and Benny Schools are the "Big ones" (though some other schools are springing up and giving the aforementioned schools a good run for their resources). so
Belary = 30,000 entry level may rise to 40 0r 45 but not above 45 plus Accomodation for few staff.
Ayakpo = same as Belary but with little/no accomodation.
FACISS = 30000 Entry level but can pay up to 60000
Winners = Negotiable entry but more rules as it regards dress style.
Bieodomo Schools = 35000 (but no holidays even in August else be ready to lose the month's salary)
Divine Comprehensive = 30,000 and may hit 60,000 depending on your impact.
New Total Child Academy = same as Divine Comprehensive
Benny Schools = Negotiable entry salary but not below 25000.

With this, you should be guided on what smaller schools pay.
the Minimum here in Bayelsa is 5000 (for WAEC holders teaching in private primary schools)

Feel free to ask questions or add if you are also in Bayelsa.

This is a follow up to my post above as regards salaries of teachers in "specific location".

Negotiation is key to getting the needed salary, although preference is given to B.Ed & B.sc edu. gradutes because that is their terrain. More often that not, they are paid the same with other degree holders. A "few"schools pay them a little above other degree holders.

P.S. Schools that are starting CANNOT pay you the needed salary. Some would increase your salary as the number of pupils increases, though there are exceptions especially for schools in highbrow areas and A'level or sixth form schools.

1. Ikorodu-Bayoku, some schools in Surulere 15k-22k(Likewise in Uwelu, Barrack and after the Airforce barracks in Benin, Edo State).
2. Bariga- Somolu & Bajulaye 28-30k depending on your qualifications;
3. Festac, Mile 2 & Apapa- 45-75k depending on your qualifications, PDGE inclusive;
4. Lekki-80k- 160k depending on your experiences, professional certifications and qualifications, Nursery and primary 40-60k(source: luffskidz);
5. Gbagada-60k depending on qualifications, experience; (oluemmakay could be reached for details).
6. Anthony- 70k depending on the school and location experience counts a lot plus professional qualifications;
7. Akute-Ajuwon Axis- 35-45k depending on the location, qualification and experience. Most of them usually have high turnover of teacher.... that leaves much to be desire (visit some post on pages 1-23).
8. Ipaja- 35-50k depending on location, qualification and experience... some are ready to give you accommodation. Based on information gathered on this thread, they would want applicants living in that axis.
9. Ayobo along Redemption camp-18k-28k (Not all schools in that location would pay such salary. Just a handful are willing to provide accommodation).
10. Jabi(Abuja), Maraba, Nyanya 25-45k- it depends on the school & location.
11. Ekiti depending on the school- 20k, some 35-45 depending on qualifications. Accommodation is provided for some schools.
12. Ile-ife- 60-75, depending on school location, British/Nigeria curticulum, qualifications and professional qualifications. Accommodation is given in certain school for experience hire.
13. Kwara-13k schools around Ansaru-deen, tanke, Taiwo, post office 25-30k
14. Zaria- 20k upwards
15. Ondo - depends on the curriculum, if it is A sixth form 80-150 with accommodation provided you have the perquisite qualifications.
16. Ogbomoso- details are still sketchy
17. Ogun- Mowe, Ofada, Lambe, Matugun, Ijoko, Are-po
It depends on the school, curriculum, qualifications and experience. In Abeokuta, there are A-level schools that pay well such as Daywaterman e.t.c other Nigeria curriculum schools to the best of my knowledge 60k.
18. Onitsha- 12-20k depending on school, qualifications ( from Information gathered, irrespective of qualifications in some quarters, they cannot pay above 40k).
19. Bayelsa- In Bayelsa, Belary Schools, Ayakpo Schools, Faith Comprehensive Sec. school (FACISS), Winners Academy(Not owned by Winners church o), Bieodomo Schools, Divine Comprehensive, New Total Child Academy and Benny Schools are the "Big ones" (though some other schools are springing up and giving the aforementioned schools a good run for their resources). so

20. Porthacourt- information from reliable source gathered from their thread and Morrygreat corroborating the said information. 25-30k. They also have the A-level schools that pay as high as 70k.

Caleb schools- 70-100k
Redeemers schools -90-150k
Chrisland- 80-120k
British international- 150k
Turkish international- 145k
American international 200k
Pampers- 95k

I also sympathise with school owners because they spend a lot, the reason they set up the business is to provide services at acceptable profit and reduce cost to the bearest minimum.

WARNING: The above should not be relied upon totally. You can either bargain below or above the stated figures above. I STRONGLY advice you do your findings so as to ascertain what is obtainable in the location above.

Please update the above to assist those that would like to move in this "transfer season".
Thanks.

Really?

Yes. Even more (triple) if our work is regular. Just that there is a serious recession in most industrial sector at d moment. Fmcg like pz, textiles like nichemtex, all iron n steel are having epileptic work schedule, some time, less than 14 working days in a month. So it affects d sal.

Please get you facts right or better still post or send the name of your friend's friend who told another friend who happens to be you about what he knows about the College.

I started the College in 1998 first as a tutorial centre using my father's property in Ikorodu. I left in 1999 to work outside and gather more experience, another reason why I left to pick up a regular job was the cost of running a business and the unpredictable cashflow in business.

The school is located on 3 plots of land. Although I started the school my father a retiree from UNILAG who is now in his 70s is the Proprietor, he assisted me with payment of salaries. My father who is the Proprietor used to come around to visit the school in Ikorodu once in a week, he was never involved in the running of the place.

Between 1999 and 2014, yours truly worked in management position in various schools in Lagos. Although while working in other places, I was keeping tab of happenings and progress made in the school. I played a major role when the school was approved in 2004 because most of the inspectors from Ministry of Education Alausa were my classmates and juniors in the University.

The problem with the school started about 5 years ago although we have overcome the problem. Mind you the Principal is solely responsible for the running of this school. A guy became the Principal about 5 years ago, through series of palace coup, back stabbing of the guys who even brough him to join the college.

Not long after becoming the Principal, the Proprietor stopped his weekly visit to the school. As a matter of fact before I became the Chairman of the College about a year ago, the Propreitor nor his children ever visited the school for 4 years.

The Principal only visited the Proprietor to collect cheques for the running of the school, the guy rented out the property to some other business concern without informing the owners nor the money collected remitted to the owners. He sacked the Bursar and put his own crony as the Bursar. He collected money from the owners for the awards of contracts which he never delivered to the contractors, he has a personal account where some of the school fees were paid into. The guy was buoyant enough that he built a 3 bedroom bungalow for his mum and also bought a car for his girl-friend, eventhough he has his wife and family at Ilesha Osun State.

I partially came back on board as the Vice Chairman of the School in 2013 October, when my auditors stated auditing the books of the school they discovered fraud and unremitted school fees and WAEC fees running into millions of Naira. The guy also embezzled the staff co-operative money of about 900k.

The guy was not sacked but he ran out of Lagos, but ever since his friends and sympatisers who ate out his loot have been spreading falsehood about the school.

I fully joined in September 2014 as the Chairman of the school, because Baba (Proprietor) is now aged and he is just recovering from the shock of what the last guy who he really trusted did to him and his business.

I am the new Proprietor in quote, I just finished liquidating all the debts inherited from that guy.

As earlier said, please do me a big favour by sending the name of your source to me.

Thank you and God bless our hussles.

Thanks so much for your time to explain in details what had occur in the past. I am passing this info of yours to my friend to seek for the details of his said friend. Thank God I didn't act as if the info comes directly from me in the first instance, and d source was the major reason why I opened the comment with my personal statements (first paragraph) before stating the info gathered. Just as you've requested, I will try as much as possible to get the details of the man, even if it's just gonna be his name.

But please, I have a question. Who exactly is "a deacon in Apostolic Faith Church"? I only copied and pasted those info here the other time as posted to me.

Thanks once again.

Bedrock is a quality school when it comes to teaching and learning and facilities but same may not be said about their pay. Just in the league of Winners Academy.

what do you mean 'Science lab tech?'. Is it a subject or what? Please clarify!

Thanks in anticipation!

Your question not directed to me though. in academics, SLT used to be non teaching staff, in charge of lab, their duty is to prepare reagents, get/purchase/recommend chemicals, samples /specimen for practical.
Only few schools can afford their services. Most of them push all these functions on the neck of their science teachers.
