I'm beginning to think that this BEDC is the problem, because people keep talking of improved power but mine has actually gotten worse to what I was accustomed to.


Truth be told, I also think that commissioned power plants have started contributing their quota and not just the improved gas supply or the dam ish.

They have just used this situation to provide their staff with opportunities to be fraudulent. One NEPA/PHCN/DISCO staff came to my neighbourhood recently, claiming his mission was to investigate those with bad or faulty pre-paid meters. When he discovered that the guy who lives opposite me, had a faulty pre-paid metre, he asked for =N=30,000 (thirty thousand naira) to fix the guy's meter, or else he would disconnect his electricity supply.

My neighbour brought out copies of the letters he wrote to the DISCO complaining about his faulty meter and requesting for their help in fixing it.

He can escalate this to the discos HQ.

I know some customers do record (audio or/and video) some of these fraudulent practices by disco technicians... Once they know you have recorded their actions, they will start begging because the will likely lose their job if the evidence gets to their superiors.

I agree that he has been conned. But if the DISCOs had an official channel or a proper mechanism for resolving complaints concerning fixing of pre-paid meters, would this issue not have been resolved long ago, without the technician's knowledge?

Probably BEDC's problem.

The key thing about power generation is that whatever gencos generate cannot be stored... it goes straight to customers via discos. So some customers somewhere are enjoying longer hours of power supply at your expense.

For about 3 months now I haven't bought fuel for my power generator infact I wona sell it.lol 22hrs power supply, I'm impressed.

I'm sure they do. You'll have to talk to the managers of the undertakings or business units, they are in the best position to quickly resolve the issue.

Bros, my neighbour has done so. Several times! He even wrote to them and they acknowledged receipt of his letters. They have always told him to buy a new meter, as they cannot fix old ones! Imagine!!

That's sad mehn... it's sadly an incentive for customers to bypass meters.

Discos do have a long way to go in terms of customer satisfaction.

I have said it b4 that the electricity problem in Nigeria is lack of political will and not technical know-how.

I know for sure some private companies are already generating electricity from gas. I strongly believe this can be replicated by the discos. It is only when it comes to IPP that gas supply becomes an issue....

The truth of the matter is that he did all he could have done in 5yrs in just few months to the election in a bid to deceive nigerians, if he had done all he did at the end in d middlle or begining of his administration, no one will give a damn about buhari.
So, Gej is to blame if buhari is reaping from his eye service handwork.

The power supply has been so scarce in my area o,about 2,3 weeks ago,it was very constant but not anymore

Stop being partisan, does it take just one year to plan , design, set up, construct , connect and finalize arrangements when it comes to such projects like Power plants? By the way how many did Obasanjo the so called saint during his 8 yrs tenure?
