Vmware Experts Help Needed by kode12: 1:17pm On Aug 27, 2015
I'm trying to run a virtualized network of 6 Windows server 2008 operating systems running on VMWARE. I have all 6 installed but I'm unable to network all of them and receive connectivity throughour the 6 guest operating ssystems on the VMWARE.My host OS is a Windows Server 2008 operating system.
I have all the operating systems running IP addresses from the same subnet as the host OS,the idea was to have full connectivity throughout all OS but that isn't happening and I keep getting destination host unreachable,I managed to have one of the guest OS ping another guest OS but the receiving OS could not ping back, looking at packet statistics though I can see packets moving in and out of the adapter.
What I'm I doing wrong?

I'm assuming you are using VMware Workstation
Have you verified that all the Virtual machines are using the same network adapter settings?e,g if you are using Host-only make sure other VMs are also on host only.
Secondly, the reason why the second guest os could not ping back might be due to a firewall issue. Try turning on file sharing on all the guest OS.Better still, you can completely turn off the firewall on each host.
Lastly, do you intend making the VMs connect to the external network? If yes, is it through cable or wifi?If its through cable, Bridged networking works well for me but if its through wifi, host only works for me with some little tweaks.

The answer lies in the following

1. Set the host and VMware adapter to bridged and tick the replication option.

2. Shutdown all firewalls

3. Make sure they are all in the same subnet. You should be able to get connectivity.

I use VMware workstation though.

Alienvirus and Tunee thanks a lot bosses.I'm using the VMware Workstation 10.0 too, just getting a little more steady with it though.

Are you trying to make the physical machine a server while the vm machines will be clients?

Simply turn on Network discovery on all guest OSes.
Ensure that file sharing is turned on too.

I 'll like to suggest but I need to know if u want the virtual systems to communicate with the physical host. I currently run a server - client network within my vmware but not not communicating externally.
