ON BUHARI's LATEST APPOINTMENTS...

People forget that Nigeria is beyond Hausa-Fulani, Igbo, and Yoruba.
Buhari's appointments are touching several states of Nigeria.
For those who don't know, 'the north' is not a monolithic entity but a very diverse region.

When wailers wail because Buhari appoints Christian or Muslim minorities to represent their states, they deserve pity. Buhari has made appointments from Kano to Kaduna to Nassawa, from Katsina to Adamawa.

These are all 'northern' states but they are not the same in terms of ethnic and religious composition. While I personally would have wanted Ogbonanya Onu as SFG, there is nothing that makes that position automatically his.

And by the way, the heads of Nigeria's two major agencies-- the NNPC and CBN-- are igbos. So what are we talking about? Nigeria has at least 250 ethnic groups and 36 states and this composition goes beyond Hausa-Fulani, Igbo and Yoruba. The earlier we get this into our skulls the better.
