I almost got beaten by trying to get this across. Students of Uniport riots and block the entrance of UPTH as a result of one of them dying after being refuse treatment from UPTH staff.

Well, I learnt that a female student had collapsed yesterday and on heading to the hospital, they were told that there was no bed and as such, the patient can't be accepted. She was taken out to a private clinic who later refer her back to UPTH. When they returned, the same info was given them again. Due to the up and down movement, the girl died. So, the students started rioting since that yesterday up till today. Vehicles where not allowed inside. When 5 police patrol vans where later called to disperse the students, they came outside the hospital where we were waiting and started blocking East-West road...the funny part...

After succeeding to take this picture with my blackberry phone, I decided to use my tablet....whoollaaa, I heard "this one is snapping us''. Before he could go back to call other co-rioters, omo, I scamp... Everyone had to run because of me...lol

Well, there is your half-witnessed story. Police men are still in the premises as I write...

I guess I deserve front page naa with this my nairaland I-report...

I hate it wen I heard bout anyone being refused treatment cos of monetary issue.so if u dnt ve money no treatment wotsoever niyen.just pray everything work out well in dis country. R.I.P to anoda future leader nipped at d bud.sooo sad.

She collapsed in her room. She was rushed to upth at 6am, but she wasn't attended to until 12noon wen she gave up.

thanks. They are rioting coz this is not the first nor the second time such a thing has happened. (losing a student due to one reason or the other)

The students just returned and are causing mayhem now. As I speak, they have gone to HOQ to destroy things . It is a pity that innocent students will now pay for these destructions. As I speak, 2 gjrls are crying because their father just died ATM in A/E because all staff had ran...it is a pity...smh RIP to the deads

its so unfortunate for the 2 girls who lost their dads because the hospital staff had to take off due to fear of attacks from the rioting students. the blood of everyone whose lives have been lost during this incident at UPTH is on the hands & heads of the Oga's at the top.

Oh by the way....
to those who are rioting, to those who may want to riot, i humbly advise you, do not destroy properties when rioting, this is Nigeria, no matter how you think that by destroying the properties it will hurt the government or the Oga's at the top, NA LIE. It will not affect them because it is we the masses who will end up paying and providing money to buy or replace the damaged properties. After all, how many Oga's at the top pikin or family members dey visit UPTH?
Next time if we want to RIOT, all we simply have to do is to visit the premises where we want to conduct or perform the RIOT, bring out the doctors and nurses(that is in the case of UPTH), and have them lie flat on the ground, then give them 100 strokes of the cain or koboko(depending on the one we choose to use at that exact time). By the time them body peel and pain them, next time if them see sick person for them hospital them go treat am first and ask for money later.
