...freelancer is a vast online marketplace, I can personally and strongly tell you that getting a project awarded to you is one of the most easiest things on freelancer- for me at least. the key is to build your profile first- try to fill up those writing spaces with good and creative descriptions and add something to your portfolio; your personal picture instead of a logo can give you an advantage too. then when you are bidding, don't just go to amount alone and bid, tell the person in few words why he should give you the work, and leave few last lines that would steer him to action. that's the magic for me, i had no recommendations, no badge, no reviews until lately, and am a free user

Anyone that can help, I will appreciate, I am into article writing.

However, I would like to have an insight into a project like this where the employer specified the pay rate whereas the budget minimun while bidding on the project is different and above the specified rate. Please, how does this apply?

Plese how many of you have downloaded Freelancer time-tracker on your desktops? How does it work and what are the pros and cons? Freelancer informed me that it is mandatory for me to download it or I will not have my milestone released on the project I am working on. Also, I have noticed they've been giving me negative points for the projects I've been bidding on after bidding. I normally place milestones, and their reason there is "milestone cancelled". I don't understand.

That's strange....I have worked hourly jobs and I have not been forced to download desktop App. You cannot request milestone directly like the fixed jobs, you will have to send invoice and input the amount. It is that simple. please explain the last part of your statement and make it understandable.

Why not raise the word count to something around 800 and 1200? I think you'll have a better chance of high ranking on search engines if the article is well optimized and lengthy.
