I have always thought on this Line. Why don't Uniben give Aspirants their second choice courses if they couldn't meet the criteria of either Cut-off or Catchment placement to obtian their first choice course or courses ? they just fling them to any course! not too healthy.

I believe A second choice course will be more appreciated by an aspirant if the first choice is not given.

Second choice counts. I think it counts when the jamb admission quota for that particular department(your 2nd choice) is not met. So you can be given the course. Most times it doesn't count because you can be given a course that's neither your first nor second choice since the admission quota of your first and second choices has been filled.

hmm.. in other words, There Is a maximum number of students each department can capacitate. right? is this made known to those aspirants?

Mr B chose mathematics as first choice..Fortunately Mr B scored 61.

Now,if you were Uniben. Who will you admit to study mathematics between Mr A and B? I wouldn't mind if you give a reason too.

Mr B everyday because he made Mathematics his FIRST choice. Everyone who made Mathematics their first choice will be considered first

U mean to tel me dat in a course wer dey acept 100peepz nd 55 as d cutoff, d 150candidate hu truly chose d course as 1st choice met d cutoff, whil sm1 frm medcine hu got 60 tuk d course as 2nd choice shuld b favoured ova d true ones?? if am to consider scores you could see that Mr A scored higher than Mr B,although mathematics was Mr B's second choice he must have a place to study that course

My point is, What is the principal relevance of "a second choice course" . to what end?
