Keky:Please help me ask them...what is the job of a striker? The one that gets me rolling is when they say Giroud is underrated because he helps in defending set pieces. Yet this same people probably think Heskey was shit. No sane person would pick Giroud over Dzeko. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by debosky(m): 7:11pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
^^ Yet no club in the EPL was willing to take on Dzeko? He's so good that he had to go on loan to Roma eh? Quit hating on Giroud, Dzeko is not an upgrade on him; not in a million years. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Keky(m): 7:16pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
debosky:But Clubs were willing to take Giroud? You think Giroud would make ist team in man city? Loool |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by debosky(m): 7:19pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
Keky:Giroud was not for sale. ![]() The point is that Dzeko was and no one in the league showed interest. Aguero is better than Giroud so the first team slot at City was never the subject of debate. Giroud is better than Dzeko in my opinion so there's no way I'd take Dzeko. Keky stop hating on Olivier. ![]() |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Keky(m): 7:23pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
debosky:I'm not hating on Oliver, I'm being objective here. Just cos Giroud is a gooner doesn't mean I won't say the truth. Dzeko is miles better than Giroud. Won the league for Wolfsburg, City and am sure He is going to do the same for Roma. Something Giroud can only dream of. Dzeko >>>> Giroud. Thank you Mr Debosky. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by debosky(m): 7:33pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
Keky:Giroud won the league for Montpellier ![]() Giroud has also won 2 FA cups so what are you on about? ![]() Okay, now let's get back to being 'objective' eh? Even if we choose to measure both solely on goals (ignoring the other key attributes of Giroud) Giroud: transfer £13m, salary £80k/wk, 137 games, 59 goals, 0.43 gpg Dzeko: transfer £27m, salary £130k/wk, 189 games, 72 goals, 0.38 gpg Now, can you tell me why you insist Dzeko is better than Giroud? |

debosky:giroud didn't nd can't carry arsenal we saw aw rvp did. Costa carried chelshit to a safe place b4 he got injured Dzeko did d same for man city wen aguero was out... Av u notice giroud never scored hatrick b4 for afc ![]() It's no coincidence he's simply not enough... If only welbeck can be ruthless nd add accuracy to his game.. I dnt hate giroud but I think wenger is been biase nd unfair.. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Keky(m): 7:57pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
debosky:Dzeko came on as a substitute in almost all his games, Giroud has always been a starter. Dzeko 34 goals as 3rd/4th choice striker Giroud 41 goals as only striker on team Dzeko for me. |

'Sir-no-goal' has scored a hattrick for Arsenal, he has even scored a hattrick for his loan club - Ajax. Does that mean he is better than Dzeko? Some arguments sha..... If it was raumdeuter spewing all these, I can understand that one for his unrepentant omugo-arguments here and there. ![]() |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Keky(m): 8:09pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
Dzeko scores in big games. He's scored at least five vs United, not to mention scoring twice against them for Wolfsburg. Scored an unreal winner vs Spurs as well in the 2-1, he has scored about 3 goals against us as well. What else do you want? This guy performs in big games, something Oliver has never done. Dude also scored crucial goals in the title race when city needed him the most. Palace, Everton then Villa. Unbelievable season. I rest my case. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by debosky(m): 8:19pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
Keky:Giroud scored against Man United, Man City and in an FA Cup final last season. What games get bigger than those? Giroud scored against Everton last season and against Palace this season - an unbelievable goal if I might add, although I'm puzzled that's now the measure of a striker. ![]() Keky give up! ![]() |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Keky(m): 8:20pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
Same Giroud made us exit Second round of UCL last season with his poor finishing. Loool. I will always support him as our striker but that doesn't mean I shouldn't say the truth, even Igwe said we can't win the League with him upfront. Same Giroud said Arsenal need a striker, he knows. |

debosky:how many goals against these teams? Scored in the final when Aston Villa were already dead and buried. We talking about crucial games, you are talking about Everton. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by debosky(m): 8:26pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
Keky:Hehehe. . .who brought up scoring against Everton? Wasn't it you? Dead and buried or otherwise, history will have it that Olivier Giroud scored in an FA Cup final - a goal in a final meets the definition of a crucial goal to me. Keky:Giroud didn't make us exit nada. . . defenders cost us with lax defending at the Emirates. By the way how many UCL second round victories did Dzeko deliver at Citeh? ![]() |

Let's even accept Igwe's comments as true. Did Igwe say replace him with Dzeko? ![]() |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Keky(m): 8:39pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
debosky:Still delivered EPL title, how many as Giroud delivered? And FYI Dzeko wasn't the main man at city, but still has all those stats, but Giroud the main guy? Sad man. |

tayoccu:We are not talking about Igwe here, we are talking about Giroud, Igwe has delivered, gave us EPL titles. Even Rvp delivered, he single handedly carried us through out the season. What has Oliver Giroud delivered? that make him better than Dzeko. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Keky(m): 8:44pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
debosky:My argument is you guys claiming there were no better strikers available , that can replace Giroud. Dude is not even in the top 15 in the world. Cmon Debosky, deep down, you know Dzeko is miles better. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by IZUKWU(m): 9:35pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
You guys too hate giroud. Give the guy some breathing space. How i wish he just score like 25 goals this season and win the league for us, may be you lot will respect him |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 9:52pm On Sep 05, 2015 |
Keky:So how did he deliver a title when he wasn't the main striker? Aguero has been doing the job for City, don't transfer his credits to Dzeko abeg. Giroud may not be a top top striker but as for NOW he is better than Dzeko please. His problem is lack of quality competition and also being the only CF in the team, he carries the burden of scoring goals. He has a weak right foot and is not skillful but makes up for it with his hold up play due to strong stamina. Very good at positioning (an area he betters many other strikers including Theo) and awareness. He also has good finishing and power on his left foot. Truth is everyone has weaknesses and limitations, but when you see a player doing his best please give him credit. For NOW Giroud is better than Dzeko. |

Spy360:Dzeko won the league for city when Aguero was out injured, something Giroud can never do. I'm done with this argument. Those that know footie would tell you Dzeko is miles better. SHALOM |

Spy360:I will say giroud positioning is his main weakness...if not he's ok Y do u think Walcott will always outscore him ![]() Giroud shd be in a scoring position instead he will be finding space to turn or pass A striker shd learn aw to drop defenders....giroud always draw defenders to himself Agreed his right is weak( I'm also a leftie) he shdnt make it obvious |
