who is against eradicating corruption except all polithieves?
first cut your salary, your allowances and use all the money you have looted in the past to pay workers.

Might not know much but had a distant in-law who works in one of their LG then.
Oyo LG (like many other state's) have one of the large no of Ghost workers and Ghost projects.

Mimiko reduced those in Ondo some years ago, that was when you'll hear of spouses who're both on level 15-16 and one of them doesn't even know she has a job.

You'll hear of parents whose children might still be in high school but are recorded as Local Govt. Employees.

I think it makes more sense to plug these holes first before deciding to retrench lawfully engaged staff.

Retrenchment is not the way forward. How much is the salary of workers u will want to retrench? Rather reduce ur aides and oversea travells that doesn't add anytin to the state income.

At the secretariat in Ibadan, you will find that there are so many people there employed with no particular job description....just like in every other state.
If he can retrench those ones, that's ok

While Anambra has increased salaries by 31% within one year, you want to punish the civil servants in Oyo. Why not go to Obiano and ask him him to teach you how he does it.

You think all people you see in a secretariat are employed by the government? Can you estimate the number of those who have retired since 5 years and compare it with those remaining in service? If you can do this nobody will tell you again that there are numerous vacant positions. More employments and improvements on conditions of service should be the focus, not message of disappointment.

You have a point but my opinion is based on my experience during my NYSC in ibadan. I served indirectly under the Ministry of Agric and I saw the situation in other ministries in Agodi too.
There are level 14 officers selling kunu and doing less than an hour of efficient work daily. It is worse among the low level staff.
If I give clearer examples, I will be casting myself....but I will agree that some places are understaffed while some places need massive retrenchment.

That was then, biometric registration and subsequent verifications have taken care of that since.

Hahahahahaha As the price of Niger Delta Oil depreciates, so does their employment rate reduce. So, your survival is directly proportional to continued parasitism on Niger Delta black gold.

Instead of the State to explore investment opportunities to put these allocation to good use for returns on investment, they are busy sacking work force and lamenting about free oil money.

If we do not restructure Nigeria, Nigeria will restructure us.

As soon as a politician is sworn into office, he loses his creative mindset.
These guys never cease to amaze me,the ones that lost elections/political office i see them in church now, even days wey service no dey lol
