Hi,

Do you own a any make of Mistubushi car e.g Galant, Lancer, Carisma etc.

Let talk about and share our experience, what are the things you love/hate about these cars, fuel economy, interior, engine, how strong the body is? etc.

I owned A Carisma 1998 model, the fuel economy is ok, nice car anyway.

Let know your views please.

I am an ex mitusbushi owner. - a montero sports 1998 model.

I really over pimped that beast-subwoofers, bluetooth audio (back then it was the in thing), tinted windows, brand new original tyres etc.

Despite all, the car turned snoop with its white smoke after idling in the afternoons. I noticed most monteros were having the same symptom on lagos roads.

I remembered one morning after clubbing on akin adesola and we were returning to the mainland, I had a drag race with my friend's honda accord (EOD) on 3MB. My truck kept pushing the speedo till I could only see the EOD headlights in my rearview mirror.--around 4am. That was the last time i toyed with my soul though.....wink

Mits are good japs but I don't trust their engine longevity in nigeria. It must have something to do with our fluids.

I have a Mitsubishi Spacewagoon, bought it tokunbo from Cotonou, I have been using it for the past three yrs. still waxing strong with the spark plug that came with it as tokunbo, but I have change the shock absorber for about 4 times, I think that is a problem with this model.

I think your mechanic is in best position to tell you this, because mentioning engine oil name here could be like an advertisement, I use engine oil (L#######U####BRI###C##O####N) that cost something between 2,500 to 3000 for my car and all I do every two month it to buy an enging oil and an oil filter for my mechanic to change the car oil.

Where can I get a good Mitsubishi mechanic in Lagos to look at my Montero Sport? I need one that will conduct OBD on it and sort out all issues.

Stagger, what is wrong with your MS, are you in Lagos? I use pro-scan and can help scan the car and get the fault codes out. Reach me on 08090632874. As for Mechanic, with the scan result, Google solutions and direct the mechanic appropriately.

So what stops me buying an OBD scanner and doing the diagnostics myself? I need a complete one-stop shop please.

Ok. no vex, just an advise sha; you should consider going to Kewalrams Chanrai if so desperate for a one stop shop. Even in the US, auto-zone will scan your car and give you the result with which you will take it to the repair shops or DIY as you wish.

I just bought one 4 months ago from germany a 2000/2001 model of Space wagon. It is ok ony i have remove the absober too one with the hub. After removing the hub my ABS light turned on ever since. I dont know how to correct it even with scan. The mechanic could not shop for original hub. I think the machine is good.

This is lovely and timely. I got 2004 Lancer two weeks ago and my challenge has been getting the right ATF for the car. The one a Nairalander advised has been difficult to get. I'd be glad if you could oblige.

Thank you.

My Ball joints need replacement. Kindly Help.

Please fellow Nairalander.

I don't want my Tyre to get condemn.

I have done my alignment and wheel balancing three times within a month before it was dicovered that it was ball joint issue.

My Mechanic got one that was worked upon since he could not find its actual size. This had made things worst to the extent that the steering will be forcing itself to go leftward while driving.

Please I need help if there is any spare part in Abuja environ that has this part of Mitsubishi.

Thanks

Do not change the oil now if it's fine, do a bit of research for the right transmission oil in case you need to change it. Wrong oil can kill a transmission.

Re: Thread For Mitsubishi Owner! by oba009(m): 2:47pm On Apr 04, 2016
My Space Wagon GDI 2000 bought in 2014 as I said earlier on this trend got me stock last tuesday 29-03-2016. He will start, move then off. The scanners brought to it can't read its problem. We have changed the switch sensor and got one coil burn as a result also the nozzle cleaned. In short the car is no more starting and the advice is to do away with the engine, brain box and wiring.

Any advice please.

Thanks

Hi guys , I once owned a Mitsubishi gallant 1998.. I could say it is pretty good for 2 years.. I gave it out as a gift. However if you are looking for a goo mechanic, Try GAZZUZ through this link(https://www.nairaland.com/gazzuzz/posts) He is a good guy and well informed on any car problem,I have never tried him personally but from the testimonies of others, I have concluded he is the right person to contact.
My 2 cents.
