We also need d names of those killed by Adewale Adegboyega during d so called igbo coup. Ifeajuna - East Nzeogwu - Midwest Adegboyega - West |

OfoIgbo:Yoruba soldiers were not involved until the skirmish at Ore. In any case, you still missed the point. Biafra lost the moral high ground when its forces ventured outside its borders. Granted that some Yorubas were Ministers in the Federal government, the war was still between soldiers from the North and the East. Until Ore changed the game. Ojukwu simply did not build enough coalition for the Lagos offensive. It was flawed from the start. Nothing could be more naive than thinking Yorubas would submit to Banjo because he was a Yoruba man! |

kettykin:My uncle who fought closely by Ojukwu (May his RIP) told me this story way back and how his British wife fainted when she learnt that 'Banjo' was mandated to direct the offensive. (or something of that sort) The rest is now history. |

brainpower:I have read and re-read a lot of books on events from the first coup to the civil war. Truth be told, whatever situation Nigeria is today is as a result of the events of those periods. Infighting, lack of trust, nepotism etc grew so much within those periods. Reading accounts from different sources has given me a broad view of these events. If you read widely, one would understand why each party in the war did what they did whether right or wrong. As for me, I have learnt not to blame anyone for their roles in the war. That's why it is called WAR. I have spoken with elderly ones on both sides of the war. It is not a thing to pray for at all. If there will be a clamor for Biafra, the best way is by nonviolence. It may tarry but it is achieve able. |

hardbody:How useful was that uncle of yours that he was not mandated to lead the mission ? Yeah, that was what I thought too. He was a colossal failure and would have failed even before the commencement of the mission. It's so sad you are a member of a family that own no pride but would shamelessly display your cowardice when brave men are called upon. May the Lord give you the strength to outlive cowardice. Keep spitting others to look good. You might earn a medal to crown your effort soon. |

Ifeajuna is a coward and traitor
He wants to negotiate for the war without consulting his boss..Ojukwu |
| Re: Meet The Man Who Triggered The Bullet That Killed Tafawa Balewa by OPCNAIRALAND: 5:22pm On Sep 13, 2015 |
chiefmidwife:Between the two, Ifeajuna had more balls and brain than Ojukwu. If Ifeajuna led your Biafra you would have actualized your dream and with very little casualty. |

OfoIgbo:When you saw Ojukwu and the reality of his Biafra , should you be blamed for negotiating peace?. A megalomaniac, womanising cretin, Ojukwu was later granted pardon by NPN government, the party of the same Hausa Fulani people he was "liberating" his people from . He actually contested on their platform and was known as their foremost checkmate to Zik and his Ibo centric NPP. The Biafra hoax has been busted many times. |

Lordave:Ojukwu is the real traitor, after killing Ifeajuna for trying to negotiate an early ceasefire that would have saved millions of lives of the yeeboes, he fled later to Ivory Coast to save his own coward skin. Real roman soldiers fight till the end, Gaddafi is one. I say it again, Ojukwu fled like a coward. |

Volksfuhrer:True! Am still at a loss as to how they thought that expedition to Lagos, would have given them an edge in the war. The Biafran soldiers would have been wiped out in a matter of hours, once they landed in Lagos! How much ammunition did Banjo have in his kitty en route Lagos, anyway? Did they think the federal forces would have keep quiet in shock, on sighting the Biafran soldiers in their territory? Ojukwu just wanted to use them as cannon fodder to buy more time for himself in the South-East. That's all! ![]() Volksfuhrer:Your post make sense, die! Even their entry into the old Midwest region was also flawed. The Biafran troops entered Benin and declared the place a "Republic," claiming they had come to liberate the inhabitants. Who told them the people of the old Midwest were in bondage? Next, the soldiers went on a looting spree and committed different atrocities against the local populace, which led to those ones fighting back using underground methods. There were reports of Biafran soldiers killing unarmed non-Igbo civilians in Abudu, and other parts of the region. Eventually, the federal forces arrived and put paid to the whole thing. Sadly, the Asaba massacre occurred. Some folks say, if Biafrans had not occupied the old Midwest, the federal forces would not have entered that region to dislodge them, and the massacre may never have taken place. May God continue to grant the departed souls, eternal rest. ![]() |

peleson:Back up, kwa?? What was the capacity and military strength of that 'back-up?' How many rounds of ammunition did they have?? Enlighten us, please... Don't forget that Nzeogwu himself was killed in battle near Nsukka, during the war. What makes you think he would have survived the mission to Lagos?Who Killed Major Nzeogwu? |

MusaIbrahim1:I keep hearing that Ojukwu fled and I want to quickly correct that impression. Ojukwu was forced to leave Nigeria by his close associates especially Effiong almost at gun point when it was obvious that the war was about to be lost after Banjo/Ifeajuna betrayal. He wanted to die in the war but they told him that if the Nigerian soldiers got him alive, it would be more humiliating and forced him to leave. Please nobody should insult that great man who had an undying love for his people even though he had his shortcomings then due to youthful exuberance. |

SirJeffry:So they would have shot him dead if he did not leave? Since he fled at gun point? And you believe you made sense? Ojukwu was filled with ego and he instigated a war that he knew that he will not win, only for him to flee after millions have died. He is a coward... |

MusaIbrahim1:see this one.....what do you know about war? this is not 1967 where Egypt, usa and russia helped fought your war for you. or where the entire regions of Nigeria joined themselves against one small region for over 2 and a half years. cowards? take a look at the mirror. |

MusaIbrahim1:keep exposing your stupidity. do you think Biafra was ojukwu's brainchild? Biafra was a necessity caused by the program against easterners even after the so called countercoup by the northern baby killers. |

You killed an innocent Northerner then get killed by your own kinsmen while doing what will benefit them. Now that's Karma at its best! Didn't the monster Ojukwu still negotiate a ceasefire at the end? But it was already too late, 3 million lives have been wasted.
