He received his first political appointment as an army officer in the mid 1990's when Abacha made him the Lagos State Governor.

I predicted this last week that Prof Pat Utomi is number 3 on the list of ministerial nominees. He is the new minister of the economy(finance, trade and investment). Also Prof Henry Boyo may be the next Governor of central bank. This administration need to look into some of the programs of the last administration like the NEEDS, AGOA, NEPAD etc.

I don't think there is anything wrong in "recycling" people. It happens elswhere too. In the US, for example, Gary Locke whom Obama made Ambassador to China (2011-2014) was between 2009 to 2011 Secretary of Commerce. Between 1997 to 2005 he was the Governor of the State of Washington. Between 1994 to 1997 he was King County Executive. Between 1983 to 1994 he was in the State of Washington House of Representatives.

Bill Clinton who was President (1993-2001) had earlier been Arkansas Governor (1983-1992) and Attorney General of Arkansas (1977-1979).

Nobody rises to the position of President in the US that had not earlier been a secretary, legislator, ambassador, attorney, liuetenant, and/or governor.

Pat Utomi went to Volkswagen as their general manager, corporate affairs. He was so good that when federal government stepped in to try and save VWON, they promoted Utomi to deputy MD. He fought tirelessly to turn the strategy of VWON from CKD assembly to parts manufacturing. His ideas were rebuffed and he left 2 years before VWON folded. He remains the single most successful story of building a bank from nothing to something. His mortgage firm is todays bank PHB. His ability to think out a workable solution is globally recognised. I almost rejoice until i read Oyinlola's name on that list. That for me took all the credibility away from that story, i'll bet anyone that Buhari will never appoint an Oyinlola a minister! Oyin what? we can as well go wake Lawrence Anini and make him a minister.

If his village is in a bad shape, what position of authority has he held that mandated him to fix his village?
He was only the head of the National population commission, and GEJ sacked him for telling the Gov't the truth.
