Only lazy bankers will be afraid of TSA as all money in CBN will still end up in commercial banks through salaries and contracts payment. A wise bank will look for many salary accounts and contractors account. The days of bribing perm sect and DFA to leave idle funds in accounts collecting monthly return in dollars is over. |

THis is a bitter pill to swallow, but it is a necessity if a major loophole of siphoning government funds must be plugged. We can't keep expecting things to change for the better if we continue to live without regards for simple laws. Unfortunately, there are some smaller banks whose only life blood is the funds they hold from some goverrnment departments and agencies. WIth this new move, some smaller banks might just be closing shop pretty soon. |

CharlesPhc: Did u also read the part that says it was never enforced until now? Is there any sense in initiating something u know u never intend enforcing it? Isn't that deceit of the highest order? Besides, it's a constitutional requirements enshrined in the 1999 Constitution that subsequent govts refused to implement so ur effort in trying to attribute it's imitative to Jonah-daft is plain silly. Buhari is just trying to enforce the law of the land that his predecessors has previously ignored. Though Section 80 (1) of the 1999 Constitution as amended states “All revenues, or other moneys raised or received by the Federation (not being revenues or other moneys payable under this Constitution or any Act of the National Assembly into any other public fund of the Federation established for a specific purpose) shall be paid into and form one Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation”; successive governments have continued to operate multiple accounts for the collection and spending of government revenue in flagrant disregard to the provision of the constitution which requires that all government revenues be remitted into a single account. http://thestalwartreport.com/understanding-the-treasury-single-account-tsa-system-things-you-should-know/ |

We await confirmation by independent observers - bankers association, journalists, NGOs- of the compliance rate otherwise it is another STORY from this government of propaganda, by propaganda for PROPAGANDA. |

Demdem:Lying liar It was not until 2012 that government ran a pilot scheme for a single account using 217 ministries, department and agencies as a test case. The pilot scheme saved the country about N500 billion in frivolous spending. Before you implement any project you must test it to make sure it will work. Also what they found out during the test In the coming months, we see a return of deposit ‘wars’ amongst banks as each DMB devices means of mobilizing funds from the private sector. We see a return of the era when women are employed by banks specifically for deposit mobilization and tacitly encouraged to use any means necessary to get funds. Means banks will go back to pimping recent grads for deposits. Which is nothing in your mind unless your sister or wife is emolyeed by these pimping institues aka banks. |

[s] Bitterleafsoup:[/s] Goon, the bottom line is its a constitutional requirements that Buhari is implementing now aboard all boards. A feat Jonah-daft never achieved. The initiative is from the laws of the land and not from Jonah-daft |
