mekaboy:The northern culture/custom is gr8tly imbued with Islam!! There are no Christian courts or Canonical Courts cos Christianity hardly forms d basis for any people's culture/custom. The Sharia courts are on d same level with d customary courts!! Same level of jurisprudence. While d Sharia Courts exercise their jurisdiction in d Islamic dominated North, the Customary Courts do likewise in d Other parts of Nigeria!! Note that they are lower courts whose decisions n verdicts can be appealed!!! Hope I've in my own little way ENLIGHTENED u!! |
