But your friend who opened this thread made a general assumption. I was only returning the favor
He's no friend of mine, I don't know him from Adam. Don't tell me if he pissed his pants you're going to do the same thing? You don't have to make a general assumption too, no offense but what you just typed is as silly as what the OP wrote up there. Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa you guys are the problem Nigeria have. Learn to love one understand irrespective of their tribe. Judge a person by his personality and not by his ethnicity.

please define nicely in this context. I should kneel down and bow my head 20 times like a game lizard before I could ask a yoruba person for direction? Something an Igbo person will derive pleasure in helping. Smh

Our hate for one another has pushed us to evils.. I cant wholly ask an igbo for directions without being afraid they'll mislead me.. That's what we've turn each other too.. Lets live with it since we Made it with our own hands and hatred....

Please would like know why Yorubas derive pleasure in misdirecting strangers? A friend of my was coming to my house on Sunday and was very close to my street, he now asked one Yoruba elderly woman for direction only for the woman to send him miles back that he has long passed the street. Meanwhile the guy was almost on ther street, which the old woman knows.

Are there no honest Yoruba people again? This is bad before God and man. I had once been a victim. I don't know who to trust.

Is there any reason for this kind of character?
yoruba will always deceive you when you trust them

Am sure your frend is Igbo...right?

Yoruba people are very much particular about respect and greetings...things Igbo people don't value.

It is ingrained in our culture and a typical Yoruba person especially if not learned takes an offense if proper greeting is not observed.

Your friend most probably inquired rudely from the old woman and she decided to teach him sense grin
What an eye opener, to cultural differences. And attitudes. It would seem, from your statement, that misdirecting someone is payback for not being polite or greeting the elderly.
There was a similar situation I witnessed.

It occurred between a Yoruba elderly lady and a young lady that is non yoruba.
Instead of misdirecting the person in question, because there was no "respect" as you put it, the girl came to the oady's shop and said I'm looking for "XXXX" street without greeting, the elderly lady greeted the young person, "Good afternoon ma, how can I help you?"
The young lady realised her mistake and greeted the elderly lady back.
Respect is earned and it not to be used as a weapon.

Different stroke for different folks.
How we respond to anger or agitation is an individual thing, not tribal.

Then why did you immediately assume that the person misdirected was Igbo?
Do you just hate Igbos?
Don't you see that you are guilty of accusing someone of the same thing while you are doing worse? You are being tribalistic.

Because the OP didn't deny my assumption.

Wait a minute...don't be an hypocrite. The Op wanted to create a tribal war by opening this thread. He threw the first punch

The Truth is that that stranger might take your destiny if you show him/her the direction
some people use that asking to collect your luck. so that's why in our culture we dont really direct
unless you know the person.

it does not have anything to do with greeting

Neither did he accept. In other words you fell for it.
You should attack the writer and his words not assuming and insinuating. For all you know the writer might not be Igbo, and the offending person might also not be Igbo as well and where does that leave you.huhhuh

There you go again.
I still ask what do you have against Igbos?
What survey did you conduct to arrive at 95% statistically?
You are assuming and jumping into conclusions, the very same thing you accuse the op of doing but this time transferring aggression to a tribe that has nothing to do with the topic.
