Getting dem speakers and turntable ready.... Although I feel bad for Arsenal....Costa is a bull in a China shop
Costa is annoying! Seems he is just in the team to rile up defenders.

So, why the card?

Irrespective of club affinity the constant theatrical display by Costa and of Chelsea players swarming referees is an embarrassment to football.
Arsenal players didnt handle that incident properly. Koscielny should have gotten Costa sent off.

AFter Costa hit him, he should have stayed on the floor rolling and force the ref to make a decision.

If Costa had hit a Barcelona defender, do you think he would still be on?

Exactly!

Plus see the way Chelsea players surrounded the ref thus putting pressure on him. We never do that!

Very inconsistent and irritable officiating, the lines man was horrendous for the first red as I expected him to intimate the referee about Costa double palming and subsequently swinging to the face of Kos, afterwards the swarming on the referee by Chelsea players is way too despicable to watch.

Maybe you are right about Kos rolling on the floor after the incident maybe that would have kept the attention to himself and not Gabriel, again the reference( Barcelona) you have made is a team purely dominated by Hispanic players who are renowned for theatric antics like Costa displayed.

You are very correct. Same thing I was thinking. Arsenal needs to be ruthless in football sometimes. What a shitty game it has been.

Over to party boys to celebrate.

Very true. Good example against PSG I seem to recollect. Very pathetic officiating today from Mike Dean and his associates.

Koscielny behaved like an amateur there. You get slapped and headbutted you are supposed to milk that situation

Gabriel sef na Latin player and he should know how the game is played and the theatrics involved.

I am just watching the incident again. Koscielny is the main culprit followed by Gabriel. Just imagine it was Busquets that was hit, Every Barcelona player would be rolling on the floor and refuse to restart the game unless COsta is red carded

No party today!!

Costa is a disgrace. He is too aggressive, always looking to disrupt the game violently which is a bad trait. Notwithstanding Gabriel messed up, swinging his foot backward towards Costa was not a smart move. Mostlikely flow of blood to the head, exactly what Costa wanted.

Sad but true.
When Gabriel got his first yellow and I noticed the way he was approaching Costa, I expected someone to tell him to calm down. His first yellow for slapping Costa on the chest was unnecessary as well.
I agree, there's no clear leader in the team. All of them doing fine boy. Even after Gabriel got sent off, we could easily have riled Costa enough to get him sent off in second half. Not one player tried to.

My only positive from this game is that with Chelsea's display today, I don't see them doing well

Even Costa was telling Mike Dean to give out a card every time he fell on the ground. This is really pathetic of the EPL. It is like as if the guy is saying he should be not be touched or tackled during the game.

Gabriel was silly though for that slight kick on Costa knowing fully well the games Costa was playing. You are right, Koscielny was indeed an amateur in that incident. Looking at the red card that got Cazorla sent off, even Cazorla knew that Fabregas was faking it. Latin players and theatrics.

chelsea are finished as a team......until they buy new players.
they are a week away from another old school arse-humping by a mid-table team.

I do not support the idea of blaming Koscielny, he should not be castigated for doing the right thing, there was little in the slap from Costa.

I hope the FA committee reviews the Costa incident and slap him with a minimum of 4 match ban.

The older and more experienced players in Arsenal should have taken Gabriel away from Costa, it was obvious that Costa did everything possible to get him sent off.

Our problem today was not a striking issue. It was simply down to poor officiating, anger management and football theatrics which is spoiling the beautiful game.

The referee especially the lines men and the fourth officials were terrible, even if Kos decides not to roll on the floor, raising the chest against a player is inciting violence and a straight red card the last time I checked, the severity of that single act was downplayed.. Costa has escaped severally from the justice of the referee and that includes last weeks loss to Chelsea..

Costa and Gabriel are Brazilian born thus both are fluent in Portuguese, A lot was said during that moment between both players, Mike Dean does not understand what is being said even though he can hear the fierce spat between both players, Gabriel should have walked away but there was absolutely no justice in the handling of that situation..

I agree with the statement in bold. It is like everyone plays just for their own. A real leader would have come to sweep Gabriel away from that incident. A real leader would have rallied round the referee and the players too supported him since Chelsea were ready to play dirty. We played the game way too nice on the field today ignorant of the dirty theatrics Chelsea sometimes loves to play.

I am angry with the rubbish officiating I saw today.

I heard Arsene Wenger entered the record books as being the 1st manager to lose 50 champions league games...and he is marking the occasion with another loss.

Swarming of the referee is mostly relegated to Chelsea in the EPL and I would repeat it anywhere and this irresponsible act became popular at the Chelsea with the second spell of Mourinho, something he perfected in the Spanish league.

Immediately Costa had that confrontation with Oxlaide, Mourinho had him subbed. You would know that this is a guy who is not interested in football but rather to see how many opposing players he can rile up in the game. Gabriel was really stupid.
