its as simple as dz,u knw it z nt evrybdy dat ll emerge merit list,pribably,40% are accepted in merit, except 4 mbbs,so other courses dat ve nt bn filled up like nursing, physiotherapy etc,so candidates ll be offered admission into dz programmes afta dey mst ve done d changing of course(coc) if dey didnt meet d cut off of dier desired courses.
note:courses in d college of medicine ll nvr b shortlistd 4 coc, only courses in faculty of agric, sciences(xcludin microbiology, comp sci and some significant courses),arts(xcludin CLA,linguistics),educations, fac of tech(only wood products,IPE,Agric eng).
frm my own assumptions,d cut off for mbbs shud swing around 80-85,so candidates dat didnt meet up 2 dz score wud b asked 2 do coc,DO NOT DO COC INTO THE FACULTY OF VET MEDICINE IF U DNT SKOR UP TO 70!!,is jst d ui way of flushing out numerous applicants, mbbs aspirants take note,
if ur skor ranges 50-55 i ll advise u to do coc into botany or zoology, anthropology, archeology, health education
56-60,agric courses
61-65,chemistry,geology,animal science,geography
66-70,jst do as above
71-75,vet medicine
76-79,any course u feel lyk.
note,u can b offered an entirely diffrnt course frm d ones u xhanged to.
and lastly,FIND A DIVINE CONNECTION!!!!,its vry important in nigeria.

Sir, I can't clearly understand your question. ..I don't know for sure, sir if you can kindly come down to the level of Vocabulary at which I operate.

Some words are at war with each other in your composition.

The correction is constructive , passed across in the best possible means.

The University of Ibadan on Tuesday released its post-UTME results for the 2015/2016 session, warning that admission would be keen because of low quota admission given to the institution by the National Universities Commission.

Out of the 8,992 that scored above 50 per cent, the school can only accommodate 3,700.

While announcing the result, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Isaac Adewole, who was represented by the school’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof. Emilolorun Ayelari, said a total of 19,268 sat for the examination while 8,992 scored above 50 per cent.

“In UI, only candidates that scored over 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination were invited for the post-UTME test. 20,800 applied but 19,268 candidates took part in the examination. A total of 8,992 candidates scored above 50 marks, representing 46.7 per cent of the candidates. This is lower than the 67.7 per cent that was recorded last year,” he said.

Ayelari added that the cut off point for Medicine and Surgery was 80 last year because many candidates scored high marks.

“For that year, our total quota for the course was 150 including those who applied for direct entry. Our admission policy in UI was reviewed to ensure that the best candidates are admitted. In the last few years since we started the post-UTME, withdrawal rate at the end of first year has reduced greatly.

“Our admission quota is 3,700. That means we can only pick the best. We cannot admit someone who scored 65 when there are candidates who scored 75. We appeal to the public not to push pressure on our members of staff. There is no course that is bad in a university; there is market for bright students in any course. Last year, the cut off point for Economics was 73, this year, it will be higher. In Law, 278 candidates scored 70 and above and the highest score is 86 per cent. The quota is around 150 including direct entry candidates.”

The institution also announced that five candidates who scored the highest marks would be offered full scholarship by the school.

“This year, the highest score is 86 marks scored by Adetunji Adebowale and Amaji Charles. Adebiyi Toluwalogo scored 85 marks while Dorcas Odunayo and Olowosulu Olawumi scored 83. These five will enjoy full UI scholarship,” Ayelari said.

this is highly ludicrous #no offence,, how can u pit med cutoff at 80-85 when only 3 people going for d course scored from 83-86... so from 80 to 82 you'll get the remaining 117 persons .....##reassume ...#hapisunday

The news is genuine. Mbbs cut off mark won't be up to 80 this time around. There were about 8,000 candidates for mbbs if I'm not wrong, and mbbs utme quota in ui is 120.

Now can you just shut up and stop being a pessimistic nigga spewing trash. undecided
