I am not sure if we are members of the same Nairaland. But this Nairaland has always discouraged both man and woman celebrities who had babies before marriage.

The same Tuface you are talking about has been mocked countless times and given a name "Father of all Nations" etc before he settled with Annie. P Square has also counteless times been an object of riducule on this forum. The Davido and Wizkid have also been mocked and discouraged on this forum.

Society should jump at any opportunity to discourage behavior projected by celebrities who are influential in our societies. This Nadia girl is seeking attention, relevance and fame and she doesn't care about society and youth that she is influencing. Meanwhile if you are a parent with an 18yr old daughter, this will ruffle your feathers.

On the issue of stigma, I can say society stigmatize and focuses on woman because they are the ones who get pregnant and are left with babies. No one want this for their daughter or son, regardless of who gets the stigma.

Open your eyes and look around you. Now how many people who were children of married parents have died an early death? Be honest to yourself, how many people are living a useless and disappointing life even though their parents are married? Speak the truth of what is happening around you and shame the devil.

Nobody is encouraging having children before marriage but that does not mean we should advocate abortion.

I am not sure if you were talking to me. Alot of studies have been done and show that alot of misbehaving teenagers are from broken families ( divorce, and single parents ).

Alot of studies have also shown that parents have a big influence on a child's life because they copy alot from them. It has also been proven that if the parent was a teen mom, the child is likely to follow suit later in life. Same thing with single parenting and marriage. Though it doesnt mean kids from normal familes dont misbehave, but its better and easier to correct behavior when a child lives with both parents and in a normal healthy environment.

It's not just studies......look around you. Does that tally in your environment? Some will come from homes where parents were never married, some will come from families that were married some from those that are divorced which easns the parents were once married. Some happen because of the type of marriage they are seeing or experiencing.

Yes it does tally. Majority of young people that I have done counselling for, come from single parent families.
Alot of young men in jail would say " I did all these things because I had no father figure to show me how a man should behave."

Hear me, I didn't say kids from good families do not misbehave. They do. But its easier to correct their behaviors than those from single headed families where the parents never married.

Agreed, but how many children from divorced parents go off the rails? We are talking about people not born out of wedlock. There are families that are common law married but never got married that manage to provide a stable and loving home to their children.

Marriage itself does not equal a good home.

I see we will not agree on this. Give yourself time and observe kids from single headed families. Or observe kids born of these babymamas until into their teens.

In America teen mom/babymama trend was once fashion. Look at their society right now, particularly "African Americans." Majority of black men see the jail cells once in their lifetime or drug addicts etc. African American woman as well also have maladjustment issues. But lets leave it at " OBSERVATION" from your part.
