Hi guys......i just heard some info from a friend who also wrote the NN DSSC aptitude test.....He has a brother who is a Commodore in the NN who presenlty works in Naval Headquatres Abuja...He told him dat the Test has been marked and recorded, He even checked dat of his bro (thats my friend) but unfortunately he did not pass....the elder bro told him that NN only took 4 candidates from Kebbi state and thats what they did for the rest of the states....that before it was only 3 they took, but the former CNS whose son also applied had to be included....thats why they took 4 from each state.....and probably, they are the only ones NN would take...though they would go to onne for the medicals.....
I dont know what criteria they followed but My friend told me that they chose the best four from each state.

Navy can shortlist 3/4 per state after d exam!!! I was at d head quarter yesterday and the said over 478 names will be at the Interview in Onne and it will be From November... Then after d interview they will select 4 or 5 per state depending on d final decision of the CNS...
The process is still very long my friend... Get ya fact right...

It will be base on the % of people that pass d cut of mark per state.. So if u hv few people from ya state at onne for d interview meaning only those few people met d cut of mark of 65%(percent)..
So some state might hv 25 or more candidate im onne while some state will hv 7 candidate(Just For the interview)... Thank u all... Those in Abuja u can go to d HQ in Area 8 Garki to find out for yaself...

Meanwhile guys, this is the time to reguarise all your credentials. If your age on your school leaving cert does not rhyme with your SSCE, just forget it already. Also, start some physical training now...the horse is to be prepared for the day of battle. You will not have enough time once d list is out to start doing that. Running, press up, sit up, you must be there. Success is when opportunity meets preparation.

the navy selection process is in 4 stage for dssc. 1st apart from the online regtration, is the aptitude test, the 2nd,3rd and 4th stage are done within 10 to 14 days which compress of medical, physical training and the interview respectively. after the 1st stage, the best 15 to 30 man list will be select depend on state. fed capital always has low people chosen. those selected will enter the 2,3rd stage. during the 10 to 14 period some people will be screen out for forg of cert,false age, high bp,high sugar in urine, heart problem( any health problem discover in either your blood, urine, or x-ray), physical training eg 3 to 3.4km jogging. after the 2 and 3rd stage. those the pass will undergo the interview for each state. after the interview the board will judge each candidate performance from the aptitude test to the interview. and the best 2 to 4 candidate base on state will be selected for the dssc program. As I said Abuja Always has low candidate. some state 3, some4 at the end of the selection. so try to improve your chance of selection by praying, having faith in Allah(God), prepare your selves and have confident in yourself.may Allah help us all. happy Eld.

Profmallam has made some valid points. However, some additions are as follows. Note that once you go to Onne for d selection board, the first stage is certificate screening.Many will be weeded off at this stage. Next is the medical, which will involve all d needed lab tests. This will go concurrently with the interview stage so as to save time ie some states will be doing medical while others will be doing interview. Finally, ONLY those who pass d medicals will be allowed to participate in the physical exercises stage. Navy does not want anybody to die there from unfitness. This is d last stage. Once that is over u will pack your bags and go home to wait for the final list.

The interview stage will involve current affairs and general knowledge questions...nothing too big if you have been information compliant. The they will ask you questions based on your field of expertise. You must be on top of your game. The key is to show them your confidence. Don't walk in there and start fidgeting because of the red necks there. Be very bold but not arrogant. Look your interviewer in the eyes directly as you answer his questions. Your white shirt on that day must be sparkling white. Keep one brand new shirt just for that day. Your socks and canvas must be immaculate white.

For the physical exercises part, you will all run together like a rat race. Distance is 3.5Km. Arrivals will be segregated into 4 cages based on time interval. First cage is about 15 minutes. The trick is to start well and maintain a good pace..your own pace. Try your best to enter first or second cage, but that alone is also not a guarantee. Next u will do press up and sit up. Each will be under 1 minute. Do as much as you can under that timing.

I'm not sure, but I think original WILL still be required. Last year I printed 3 originals, and I had only one left. Try and see if you can download your completed form and print again, just in case. Good luck.

Tenderlaw, were u shortlisted for the screening at Onne last year?If yes, were candidates asked to present their forms again? The tussle to see an officer to sign my form again gives me fever. The last signing was tug of war!

If you cannot get another one just go with d one you have. No shaking.

My dear, once you are in the Nigeria navy your gender is respected but its never considered because you will be subjected to anything that your male counterparts are subjected to, just guard up properly because the journey is not smooth at all if you are selected

This NN journey is very interesting, when you are selected, go there prepared to see what you have never seen before, just know that so many things that you use to see as impossible will become very possible after few weeks at onne, you will cry until not crying get use to you, you will be so uncomfortable until being uncomfortable becomes your life style. Just go there determined and no matter what you see there just focus on the glory ahead and your loved once at home, it helps
