Hello my fellow brethren and lover of God, so I was doing my personal bible study and stumbled on something I needed to share and perhaps rub minds with like minds (iron sharpeneth iron)

Math 23:8-10 KJV:But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
KJV:And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
KJV:Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. (U can read from verse 1 to understand better) u can also use other translations (NLT for clearity)

Now, This was when jesus was preaching to the multitude that surrounded him amidst his desciples and telling them to listen to the teaching of the pharisees but to not copy their actions and was lambasting them(pharisees) for their hypocrisy .... He(jesus) sternly warned as we can see in the scripture against calling any man on earth father (or master, or teacher), as we are all brethren and have only one spiritual father, Which is GOD....

This is very much contrary to what we see in every church today, where usually ,the general overseer is referred to as "Daddy" as they(church members) see him as their spiritual head...

So to my fellow believers, what do you think about this trend, is it Right ,biblically? Honest responses needed..... Thanks in advance..

I don’t think there is anything wrong in calling Pastors ‘Daddy’ in as much as you do not worship them like some Christians used to do, because some people take men of God to be God.
Only God is to be worshiped

Bro, this is not what I need, I need a concrete affirmation and or rebuttal, with biblical scriptures as succour to u r opinion if need be, not condemnations.... like I said, I just stumbled on this and need like minds to analyse and if it be we re parading a divergent practise from the biblical dogma, we try to realign....

Your arguments, are biblical, compelling and convincing, but I really donot think it is a sin; I believe all men to their tent, if they are calling daddy in church, and in all ernesty see nothing wrong with it, I really cannot fault them or see anything wrong with it...

2kg 6:21 is even more weighty because here we see a king Calling a MOG "my father"

so now u forming "opinion" from the Scripture? U no longer read the scripture and accept things written in it by Christ? This is devastating to say the least..... I really wonder what Christianity is turning into..... my heart bleeds when I see many anti Christ teachings been paraded in churches today.... Christ won't be happy..

The passages you quoted, you know down within you, it has in no way any relationship with what was said, the 1st two scriptures are in the old testament, the scripture you quoted in the new testament are in no way related to our discussion as that has nothing to do with the church, Christ was talking about practises in church...what pains me is that you know this, but just choose to twist the scripture to fit your want instead..... to show yourself approved unto our creator.... Ultimately you are responsible for your own salvation, not your pastor or any other man... They can not help you on the day of judgement!

am not twisting the topic, and I did not attend a church that make use is DADDY, in my church only one person is entitle to coordinator or pastor, other called brother so and so, hence am not guilty of any matter to defend, I just don't see any wrong in calling leaders in the church daddy.

if young people refer to their fellow as "OGA MI" its no big deal but just an expression, then its not wrong to call church elder or leader daddy if its just an expression of respect.

what does daddy means father, and father means source of life. We have two father: Heavenly and Earthly. Calling someone else father or daddy SHOULD just be expression of respect other than that is wrong
