The gum that holds the stick to the glass and the glass to the block and the block to the floor must be very strong. Is it glue or silicon ? I will ask my plumber, but I know its the work of a strong adhesive or cohesive gum.

This situation has a scientific backing called "Meissner effect" which causes object to levitate when placed under this condition. There are flying trains that works with the principle.

Brother it's called magic not juju. More so it's illusion in which what you are seeing as person is different from what is happening. It's only magician that knows how it's work. Ordinary person can't understand it

My view...there is a reason why the glass on the stone.....because it is glued on there. Is it really an empty glass?....I think it is solid glass. The stick is glued on to to the glass and the big stone...most likely...like someone said earlier....is a block of foam or paper mache coated to look like a huge rock. @op...if you had touched it you would not be here posting. Thought was the heavy stone in India that think 9 guys can lift in the air with their fingertips only if they chant a certain name. See you tube....the levitating stone of Shivapur. Scientists still can't explain that one.

And one more thing. That big 'block' tied to the stick is not really a block. Just a form that is plated with cement to look like a stone. So the adhesive holds the stick, the glass and the piece of wood and the piece of wood is held to the ground by adhesive glue. while the stone is actually a form plated with cement to look like a heavy block.

Fellow nairalander. I was checking out a trend on nairaland of how a guy levitated at Ikeja, that brought about people staring for hours. Later the magic was busted and It was explained that the guy actually sat on a kind of chair that you can not see even with a closer look. That now remind me of what I saw in new Delhi (India ) when I went for a course. It's a huge stone tied to a stick, and the stick is sitting on a glass cup. It amazes me a lot every time I look at this picture. And there is this question that always comes to my mind . Could this be magic or science? Though I don't believe in magic but I need someone who can scientifically proof this to me or else I believe in magic once and for all if there is no proof for it. Thank yoy all.

it levitation

This is a simple law of physis, look at the picture very well, the block is centraly tied to the stick and placed on the tip of the bottle with a holo to create a balance, look how the stick is tilted to one side to create a balance to carry the weight of the block on the bottle, if the weight of the block is carefuly placed on the bottle, the bottle will never charter.

Your theory might have been right, if the glass object were a bottle - but it's not - it's a glass cup turned upside down.

There's a tiny wire or rope tied to a tree branch that held the object up.
Next time, tell the "magician" to repeat the magic at a different location of your choice.
He'll refuse.

A rope is probably tied on that stick, the glass beneath is stopping it from cutting/swinging. The rope is tiny, transparent and appears invisible.
Also, don't be surprised if a powerful transparent glue was used to hold the container to the wood that is on the floor, and the wood on the floor having a foundation in the soil.

Thats pure magic up there.

No its not..

It's the physics of centering..

Find the center of gravity where the mass is evenly distributed and you can balance almost anything.

Below is a classic example and the video of how it is done is online.

Visit this site and watch the video and be blown away.. http://m.wimp.com/balancingexpert/

Only the lazy tag things they do not understand as magic.. grin

If this is a trick then i think the trick is in the stone. The stone is a foam coated to look like a foam.

Pangea:
That is simply science.
The stone attached to the stick has altered the centre of gravity of the whole arrangement.
What you are seeing is just BALANCE!
This is no magic

This fellow is correct. So people in Nigeria still believe in superstition in this modern day of TV, mobile phones and Airplanes?

I guess mobile phones are based on jazz? Smh

Wake up people. No such thing as jazz or religion or all that make belief stuff. When we get pass all that superstition the country will develop.

The stick is part of the glass and they're both rooted to a rock which is securely fixed to the Earth or the rock is a faux rock I.e. it's not real...nice try though
