talk of pineapple, unripe pawpaw, zobo I took at will even at early stage and never felt a thing. Not until I saw it on this forum that they induce labour dt fear don catch me nd i no chop again.

@excellenc44,I did appendix operation 2010, dats 5yrs nw nd I gave birth 3wks ago,d operation didnt affect my delivery ooo, so dia is ntn to worry abt..

abt pineapple nd zobo tn,i eat pineaple,drink zobo sef during my preggo, didnt knw it can cause mc until i read abt it in dis forum#thankGod4savnmendmylo#even wen I pass my due date, 2 eat pineapple to bring abt labour cm dy fear me too.

it will surely end in praise.

No be late packing ooo! Bags has been packed and kept by the door for over a month. LO just dey do shakara and baking seriously but am at ease EDD was slated for 27th but as at my last ANC on the 24th, my doc said the head isn't engaged yet (that its still balloting) so he recommended lots of walking around and kpekusing which has been engaging in faithfully ...Doc also said if by Oct 1st I haven't pop LO out, I will undergo a "membrane strip off".

The aim is to cause the release of prostaglandin. Which helps for the start of labor.
Anyway the Dr inserts her finger and move it round the cervix... Like get a cup and move ur finger around the cup... Exactly.
So it will now ginger Or shld I say trigger ur cervix and sometimes it will also separate the membranes from the baby.



Sex also cause the release of prostaglandin too..

There are various forms of induction

The commonly practiced are
The inserting of drugs into the vagina
The drip type
Even Artificial rupture of membrane
Membrane sweep
Inserting a catheter


Most people were induced without even knowing.
So relax and be sure that what's most important is that U are FINE AND THE BABY IS FINE

My cousin lost her first pregnancy at 24wEeks due to premature rupture of membrane. Now she's pregnant and 13weeks, she felt a big discharge so she immediately rushed to d hospital cos she recognised that's its cervical plug, so d doctors did an emergency scan, and discovered her cervix is opened by 0.5cm, and d baby is intact, d inner cervix plug is also intact. The doctor asked her to go home and be on bed rest but she insisted she will stay back in d hospital. Another gynae checked her this morning and said "he thinks she might need a cerlage", but she was treated for uti 2weeks ago. She's been crying all morning, cos her own gynae said he wants a "wait and see approach". Pls what do u guys feel¤

Why is she crying when she can google cerlage with uti? I just did and read up on people with similar experience, the doctor needs to test to see if the uti is gone then get the cerlage installed. Lots of people with similar experience are sharing on the internet

Good morning sorry to crash in on the thread unannounced (my 1st post). Was looking for quick info on malaria.

Please for God's sake do not wait and see anything! Sounds like the negligent advice I was given last year by a so called prestigious hospital in Ikoyi, till I lost a 22 week old pregnancy while 'waiting and seeing'.

Please seek a second opinion on the issue from a more experienced doctor. Although I know that in Naija Dr's generally don't like to do a cerclage before 13-14 weeks. They usually prefer you to pass the 1st trimester.
In the meantime pls let her be on bedrest and put her feet up. No stress and lots of water.

about the pineapple thingy, i tink its only wen consumed in large quantities that it triggers contraction..... i have been eating it truout dis preggy moderately.

come to tink of it, i had blood stained discharge wit my first nd was so worried it ll progress to mc but God so faithful, it didnt. i was purging den. thinking back now, i tink d zobo i was takingdaily den must have been d cause. so dis tym i prepared zobo for d whole family nd once i took it, i started purging.........no be person tell me to caution my long throat
