pls ooo the sun can't block the moon from shining the sun is too far away for that. the earth was in between the sun and the moon. so the earth cast a shadow on the moon, that why the moon is looking like that.

actually it was raining heavilly but I heard someone mention something about the night being very bright like daylight, I just never thought it would be the earth-shattering eclipse

From the little I know of geography, the sun does not block the moon from shining. Rather, the moon gets it's light from the sun. Lunar elipse, I think is when the earth is in-between the sun and the moon. In other word, the shadow of the earth blocks the moon. Hence, the moon cannot get light from the sun . The red "bloody" colour is the result of the partial shadow of the earth called the "penumbra" being cast on the moon.

I stayed up all night to see the moon; it was forecasted to start by 2.11am. Heavy clouds appeared at 2am, obscuring everything in the sky including the moon.
The rain that followed didn't syop until 6am. *sobbing*
