This is DLA road in Asaba, capital of oil rich Delta State. Maybe you think the flooded road is because of heavy down pour. You are wrong. Road are either constructed without drainage. What a state govt construct is "gutter". Where will the water go, when the gutters are all filled with no channel to drain the water into the River Niger? What you have is a flooded major road. You can now imagine how the streets look like, if a major road is flooded. Street with no gutter, much more a drainage

this is how it has always be. Since i know DLA road, is always like this.............................. they award the contract and re-award every year.

Rubbish! Okowa is going to be worse! Just imagine appointing over 300 SA for a start. A Council of Advisers (corrupt & spent PDP forces) with bogus salaries, God! I can't remember when salaries of Civil Servants were delayed for two wks for the past 16yrs in Delta State. Austerity 4 all Deltans!

I laugh when people think that Okowa is the saviour that Aniomas, nay Deltans need. This is the same politician that was at the centre of disunity between Agbor and Owa.

no wonder why people leave d eastern region on daily basis

Quality of leadership is a reflection of the kind of people. If a set of people do not get angry against corruption and it's agents but rather are satisfied with whatever proceeds that comes out of this menace, then no one can save the situation except there is a change of heart.

Many of us voted Buhari' because we realized that corruption is our greatest enemy, and he was most qualified and ready to fight it headlong.

If deltans and all Nigerians reason like this and vote accordingly, then we shall eat the fruits of the land.

Delta is one state that has confused leaders who cannot come up with a single blueprint to solve the problem of development and infrastructural decay in the state! The state has been bedevilled by bad, corrupt and merciless leaders since it's creation! Funds have been diverted, projects abandoned, peanuts thrown at people and infrastructure left to decay! It was only Ibori who threw back a little, less than a quarter, of what he ate. Uduaghan proved to be far more greedy and, I daresay, evil minded. Okowa, so far, has not shown us any sign that we may smile in the nearest future! Yet the whole country calls us the big heart! Some say, the finger of God! I wonder which of God's fingers is pointed at Delta? Is it the one that says: Oh! This is my beloved state or the one thats rebukes us?

Okowa I am really sorry for him cos he is there to to pay Uduagha's debt. So I pity him !

I hope they take a cue from Akwa-Ibom.

It is well...

People like you are the types Hitler preferred to ship to concentration camps. Very low self-esteem, no aspiration to greater heights, always wishing to remain backward because others are backward.

Something is obviously wrong with you. I live and work in those states I mentioned and I know how terrible it get's when it rains.
The pictures OP shared are a joke compared to flooding in the states I mentioned. How is that a problem to you?
You think everyone who comment in Nairaland is a low lifer like you?

Delta State is d worst statr in the country. Too bad I originated from there. All Okowa has been doing is talking.

You should try Osun, Yobe, Jigawa, Benue and Nasarawa states. You'll retract the statement.

How come u call fact & truth a propaganda? tell me, Where do u stay in Delta state that is better of. If Asaba being d Capital of Delta state can be this, How will other towns look like? My friend, from Sapele to Warri to Agbaro to Ughelli to Oleh to Ozoro than to Olomu to Evwreni to Bomadi to Patani then come back to Agbor they are all mess. It's a shame to that useless Uduagha. No employment, No project. Very bad gluttony Traditional leaders & Politicians in Delta State.

If the oil wealth earned by Deltans was effectively deployed not a street in Asaba should spot a pothole. The nature of the FTC show how so a vast number of us are!

Mr The Blind Man, every state in the south has erosion problems. What you are foolishly ignorant of is the significance of that road in the OP post. It is DLA road where the DLA is located. By the way, do you know what DLA stands for? Now listen, it stands for DIRECT LABOUR AGENCY. An agency responsible for maintaining roads in Delta state. Imagine the state of the road they are situated. What will other roads look like.
I dont even know your state of origin. If it's Delta state, then I am doubly, terribly, pissed off with you.
