vfactor:Look son!... Luke account... Matthew's account etc. They wrote their account of what happened. Stop wailing, I asked you... Jesus said he 2as to preach the gospel to the poor... You said he said from Luke that the poor are blessed folks, who will have the kingdom of God... Question is, why don't you stay poor so that you'll be blessed and have the kingdom of God? If you're rich, why not get poor so as to be blessed and have the kingdom of God? Bible Heroes were stunningly rich, except by choice eg Paul and some apostles/disciples. If you are poor today, make sure it's your choice and not the devil's maneuvers on you. Simple. |

Gombs:Oh Dad! Now you say what's on your mind and how you feel about the issue. Its better that way than explaining the scriptures to suit your opinion! I am not against being rich! But I wouldnt lie to people that Jesus said when they serve God they will be rich in the name of prosperity gospel, cos Jesus never did that! Jesus even said riches CAN prevent one from entering God's kingdom. He even asked a certain young rich ruler to sell off his properties, give the proceeds to the poor and come follow him. The bible encourages people to work hard and be content with what they able to make and if they acquire wealth in the process, they should not put their trust in and hope on their wealth (1 Timothy 6:6-8,17). Talking about bible heroes being stunningly rich, do you mean men like Elijah, Samuel, Isaiah etc? |

Gombs:Now, you're coming up gradually. Who then are the poor and what gospel was preached to those considered poor if he wasn't going around dashing people monies? |

Gombs:please dont bend 2cor8:9 to support your heresies. it was never talking about material prosperity. 2Co 5:21 For he has made him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2Co 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich. . place these above texts side by side and tell me what you See. cc vooks. |

vfactor:Luke 4:18 (KJV) 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Mat 11:4 — Mat 11:5 (KJV) 4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: 5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. |

Joagbaje:Again, "poor have the gospel preached to them"...poor in what sense or context? It looks to me as if you guys have mastered a trade or techniques and you're not backing out of it. |

Joagbaje:My oga! I've treated this verse in my previous comments. What kind of Gospel did Jesus preach to the poor? Read Luke 6:20. |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Nobody: 1:25pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Goshen360:My bro That's the only scripture that they think back their spurious messages of the prosperity gospel. But on 2nd look they can't really show where Jesus taught his disciples that following him will make them materially rich. |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Joagbaje(op): 1:29pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Goshen360:Ma bu mi o. The bible speak for itself . The poor refers to those lacking materially . Physical poverty just as the good news to the blind is to the physically blind and healing was brought to them . The good news to the poor is their inheritance in God t which grants them dominion over lack or poverty |

vfactor:He taught them the principles of faith and also giving |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Nobody: 1:34pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Joagbaje:So? Did he say giving will make them rich? |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by lampardizik(m): 1:40pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
vfactor:Plain and simple truth! The man teaches to take matters into your own hand and not sit around expecting one employer to come grace you with some monthly peasant.... Be wise |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by lampardizik(m): 1:43pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
vfactor:No,you're rich by default once you're a born again But you have more because you give |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Joagbaje(op): 1:43pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
vfactor:What more can we say? He taught about having faith for supply . He taught about how to receive which is by giving or sharing . Money doesn't come by prayer but through giving or sharing . Those are principles . There is a different e between physically blind man and a spiritually blind man. Just as there is a difference between physically poor man and spiritually poor man so don't mix the two . When Paul dealt with spiritually blind person ,he made it clear. When he dealt with physically poor he made it clear too. We should not interchange just to push our ideology |

lampardizik:Seriously? You honestly believe that? |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Goshen360(m): 1:47pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Joagbaje:Fair enough! I asked your boy, Gombs same question and he kept dragging his feet on this thread but at least, you are straight forward. Mi o bu yi sir, mo Ko n so akiyesi mi ni o. Sir, if Christ didn't go about dashing people considered "poor" in an attempt to preaching the "gospel to the poor", doesn't that scripture explain itself that the poor are those that have not heard the gospel preached to them. ..something with another phrase, "poor in their spirit" man? Haven't you read in scripture where one church said she was rich or wealthy but the Lord said she was poor wretched? So that tells me someone having money or riches doesn't mean he or she is not poor. He's poor BECAUSE HE OR SHE IS WITHOUT THE GOSPEL PREACHED UN TO HIM OR HER, not because he has money or not. PLUS, there's no such thing as prosperity gospel please erase such from your bible know and follow the path of truth. It is the gospel that produce prosperity not the other way round. |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Joagbaje(op): 1:48pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
vfactor:Firstly you must work as a principle , Give as a principle Trust God as a principle Those are the major steps against poverty. If you want relevant scripture I may quote them. |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Nobody: 1:50pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Joagbaje:With this princple anyone can be rich. Its not dependent on whether you re born again or not. Its not dependent whether you re a Muslim or Christian or an atheist. Dangote is a prime example. |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by lampardizik(m): 1:50pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Joagbaje:My brother you got it wrong there Not lacking materially, but being ready to give 'all' that you have without hesitation when the need arises for the sake of the gospel and also to the poor You are rich materially but then you are ready to give it all out, without considering your own self...that's what the bible is talking about here |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Joagbaje(op): 1:52pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Goshen360:It's based on self righteousness. There's someone rich unto himself and another is rich unto God . The man who is rich unto himself will soon become poor . But the man who shares can only have more. |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by lampardizik(m): 1:53pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
vfactor:I have no reason to doubt it |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Goshen360(m): 1:54pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Joagbaje:So it means anyone can be rich following these principles whether christian or not right? |

vfactor:Spiritually poor is when you don't know the word of God,when you are faithless or have little of it Because Faith is the currency of the spirit!!! And it works anywhere! |
| Re: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Joagbaje(op): 1:57pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
Goshen360:We don't consider the riches of a sinner as wealth . The world loveth his own . Just as a may not out the good deed of a herbalist as godliness . But the principle of giving do work as a law of nature genetaly . |
