Where was the National Orientation Agency all these years the herdsmen were rampaging across the country, as soon as people started to wake up and took extreme positions against the herdsmen, then the federal government now decided to wake up to look into the crisis that has been going on for decades. If these does not tell you the Fulani are a protected group and sacred cow in Nigeria I don't know what will.

If they don't, those herdsmen won't get the chance to regret their poor miserable lives all the way up from Kwara down to Lagos.

Land should be provided for grazing.Any herdsman caught outside the grazing zone should forfeit his flock to the government.

And pray do tell, where will these lands be situated?

When has Nigerians been known to follow rules and regulations? If Fulanis are allowed to roam the South along "grazing paths", give or take 10 more years, we will be having this discussion again.

Where is that loudmouthed igbo dunce, Prof Chidi Odinkalu, the chairman of NHRC ? That slowpoke called FFK a tribalist and said that the Fulani herdsmen can rear their cattles anywhere in Nigeria.

Fulani herdsmen are tse-tse flies and Igbos are leeches. Both tribes need to be fumigated and done are away with so that Nigeria can become a better place

You can give out your land for fulanis to graze their cattle for free. No one will waste a word over that. Any land they want to graze their livestock in outside their traditional lands should be adequately paid for. They don't give out those cattle for free. Its a business they are running.

The Buhari wont do Nadaa..This Same Man was in Ibadan in the year 1999/2000 on a angry visit to the then Oyo state Govornor,Lam Adeshina..Fulani Herdsmen where being attacked by Farmers in the Oke-Ogun area of Oyo state because the Herdsmen where grazing on farmers land and destroying their farm lands with no remorse from the headsmen. The Farmers could not take it anymore and they took the laws into their hands..

Buhari came, not to appease to the farmers whos source of livelihood where being destroyed, but to support the fulani men despite the fact that they where at fault..It took the timely intervention of the then oyo state Govornor,Lam Adeshina to cool down tempers..If you think this is a lie,You can google the event of that period and you would know berra.Shiorr

Some Yorubas were threatening secession... Northern leaders will do anything to make sure Nigeria stays united...

If Nigeria breaks up, they will be on the losing side.

Why cant the Fulani's be encouraged to adopt the ranching system, why is it that we like being at the backwaters in all facet of life. The ranching system is truly the way to go, but with our narrow silly way of doing things they might just resist doing it claiming it is not their traditional way of of life. Come to think of it, we are in no way close to Argentina in beef production yet you don't see herdsmen on their roads or cattle's rummaging on peoples farmlands. The world over, ranching is the norm, their forefathers were once nomads yet they have shifted far far away from those practices and adopted modern and better ways of rearing cattle. The Fulani man is in no way interested in such changes.

The Fulanis own Nigeria, the land area of Nigeria belongs to them. They are Hamites, Africa is Hamitic land.

What would be your own prescribed solution to this issue?

Ilekeh:
Solution:

In civilized countries, the idea of nomads ceased to exist during the agricultural revolution. Before we can talk about solutions, we have to answers several questions. Why are Fulani herdsmen still archaic? Why do they still need to bring their cows to the South to chew our crops?
Countries like America implemented a cleaner system of transporting fresh meat across the nation. Nigeria can imitate this system or invent a better one. South Nigeria worries about meat supplies if the herdsmen are restricted to the North and the North worries about meeting this demand if they can't travel to the South. Why can't the North create a system of meat supplies in the North and have the The Southern states find methods of getting meat to the South. i.e stores like HEB, Walmart, Target etc find ways to get fresh meat supplies to their stores all over the country.

Result: Fulani herdsmen stays in the North.

But then.....everything is connected to a good electricity supply. No nation can function without stable electricity. Nigeria's not functioning, she's just surviving.
