@Onankpaba, thanks for ur concern, Nigerians across ethnic and religious lines have to realize that this is an injustice that have continually been meted out to us by successive governments, and we are appealing to the present government of change to reverse the trend, and treat us like other Nigerians, it's said" an injury to one, is an injury to all"

In the North the Gbagyis are among the largest minority tribes. The own more than 85% of Abuja. They can be found in Kaduna, Niger and Nassarawa states. Its unfortunate that they where balkanized into many states and have been effectively rendered powerless. I really pity them. Its easier for the camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for them to be granted the request contained in this thread. Its a matter of time before they would be marked out for extermination. You can save this comment of mine for reference purpose in the future.
And to think that IBB is of that ethnicity makes it very sad mhen. The man who finally made FCT as Nigeria's capital. One day go be one day sha, water go find e level. Those guys will fight back for their heritage

so they shouldnt have their say because they are a minority tribe, right ? Does Nigeria belong to the Hausa, ibo and Yoruba alone ?
before 1991, Does Lagos as capital of Nigeria have a head of state and state military administrator or president and governor there too? Jamb doesnt even recognise FCT as a state except may be now and that is why when they are seeking admission in higher institutions, they immediately pick up indigine forms from the neighbouring state to their communities which are the original states they have been moved to in 1976 when FCT was originally conceived

I once lived with the Gbagiy family in the same compound and I think these people are extremely nice and friendly.

They appreciate strangers and make them felt comfortable in the true nature of the Gbagi people

Dating a Gbagi lady who has not been contaminated by worldly sophistry is a wonderful experience...

They are faithful and sincere in their relationship

But the Gbagis are beginning to drift away from the people oriented approach to money oriented policy. Thats a departure from their original identity!

Money is good but the purity of the Gbagi identity should however be preserved.

Go to Galadimawa, Lugbe and few other places in Abuja, house rent soar beyond the reach of the poor...

I think this tribe however deserve recognition in the light of true federalism

My regards to friends in Bwari, Lugbe, Wuse, Apo...

Cheers Afiniki, Atnaji and Jinka.

Ushafaiza:
Sincerely, in this era of change we deserve fair treatment from this govt, overtime previous governments have ignored our agitation for a representation of FCT (indigenes) in Federal Executive council, hence the Constitution has made a provision that FCT should be treated like a state. e.g FCT has a commissioner in Fed. Character Comm., RMFAC, and other statutory bodies. consequently we are appealing to the President to consider us for Minister of the Federal Republic, it doesn't necessarily has to be FCT Minister , hence it is his prerogative to assign whichever ministry he so wish to any nominee. Proudly Gbagyiza
Una be Fderal Capital Territory, una still wan be ministers on top. Na only una waka come?

How about a deal, Abuja should relinquish FCT status and get a ministerial slot of its choice?

Deal or no deal?

The ppl of FCT have suffered marginalisation since time.memorial, they neva had a minister for thier own state, and abuja has 2ministers...this is a wrong we hope PMB will correct...

Abeg go and sleep. How will Ministerial post give you compensation?? You have members in house of rep, senate, even local govt...what have u been able to do with all these? Absolutely nothing! And ur coming here to cry for Buhari. The post of Minister is not more than what your senator will do cos he is supposed to be your voice in government. You all shld go back and disturb them and stop crying over nonsense!

People who are saying they should give the minister of fct must be ignorant of the locals of Abuja. Let me open a can of cankerworms. These people constitute the highest level of illiteracy and uproductive lifestyle. I grew up here in Kubwa So I know what Am talking about. Let me start with our former landlord, Mr usmam all he thinks about is alcohol, womanizing and smoking. Children school fee he won't pay light bill for where, nepa bill titilielei. This man has over 3 sets of two bedroom flats, 2 self contain and five shops. Yet the only tin in his room is mat, his bed on the bare floor No light not to talk more of having TVs set. I pity these people a lot despite them being in wealth and living with exposed people they still remain backwards in thinking and ways of doing things.the highest level of education for the females who accept to be in school is SSCE some get pregnant at Jss 1 or 3 then become mother's. These people have low ambition in life. I'm even getting angry typing this. Mtchewwww

Re: Abuja Natives Decry Omission From Ministerial List by MacxD: 5:54pm On Oct 13, 2015
@blackpanda. You are wrong. Every state and the FCT deserve a minister. You talk about money when it comes to representation, but its not always about that money for some people. And yes we have been hearing some of their representatives doing what they were elected to do. For the local governments its a structural problem. So pls give them a break. Until you have local government autonomy things will not change. The state governors and the minister of FCT are in complete control of the monies that come from the FG. There hands are tied if you really want to look at things objectively.
The only right thing to do here is to give them a minister. you are quite insensitive to their plight. These people do not enjoy the right to elect a governor or state house of reps. And their representative in the senate is only one. Other states got 3 many members of reps. how much can they do?
