naija police only good at extortion and catching suspects after committing crimes!
there are illegal police checkpoints all over festac since oct 1 under the guise of catching boko haram
so that they don't bomb lagos and they ve been at it(extorting motorist and okada riders) since till this morning
and i can bet the ones station at 23rd junction/mobil filling station just close by the robbery scene would have fled into 23rd market!
wonder why with so many security/police checkpoints in and around festac such robbery can still occur.

In another news any resident of festac that doesn't have any tangible thing to do around 4th av/23rd axis
should stay clear off that axis and most importantly no illegal drinking or smoking at close by joint around there
cos police will be on the prowl now picking up innocent peeps all and around festac.

Lord have mercy.
I think festac is becoming to loosed security- wise. just last month i visit a friend there and he showed me one of the banks where two okada guys came in a hot afternoon in the full glare of the public, robbed and shot one guy who carried money stepping out of the bank at the same area not far from each other in festac without any confrontation.
And now this one again aside the other ones happening there that we are not aware of.
The inhabitants need to know that beside security agents, they can watch each other's backs and update security with intelligence reports to rescue that estate else soon the crime rate in San Pedro Sula, Honduras will be a child's play.

They came through water, after about 30mins of robbery in access bank, diamond bank and fcmb they left through water again without any harassment

The robbery like I gathered now begun in the wee hours of the morning (3am) and as usual the police is just arriving there some 4hrs later.

meanwhile festac police station is not far from where the banks are located, yet they waited 4 hours before responding. and their men are supposed be guiding the bank and this make easy communication and mobilization. too bad

Its so Painful 4 me that d whole world does not know how USILESSSS Festac Police is. I once reported on this Nairaland that Festac Police work is such a jamboree that if they post a festac police officer to Agboju which is d nearest police station he ll spend upto 500k to bribe so that they ll bring them back. ALL THEY DO IS EXTORT MONEY FROM OKADA N CHECK PEOPLE'S PHONE 4 EMAIL ADDRESS N FOREIGN PHONE NUMBERS SO THEY CAN EXTORT MONEY FROM D SUSPECT. PEOPLE LOSE THEIR CASH N LIVE ON 1ST AVENUE EVERYDAY B4 TODAY N THIS SO CALLED POLICE DO NOTHING. Just wait n u ll hear how many innocent passerby they ll arrest today. I know this because I ve lived in festac 4 more than 19 yrs. They re really USILESS N I WISH THE AUTHORITIES ARE READING N CAN DO A TOTAL OVERHAUL THERE.

I went to 1st bank now on 23 Road and they didn't let anyone in, the place was locked with chains and they wouldn't tell us why, I was thinking they were still experiencing networks problems, me no know say info don reach them. Make God help us for Festac ooOoo!!!

Early this year on my way to work there was a serious robbery operation along that 7th Avenue Festac Town, the policemen that were controlling traffic that morning removed their cap then wore a long sleeve mufti on their uniform.
Though, sincerely the sound of the gun those guys were shooting wasn't sounding childish. cool

I was grateful to God making me average in size cos the fat ladies didn't find it funny trying to run for dearest life. grin

Until the residents implore the services of the OPC or other local vigilante groups,there would be so strict security .Festac Policemen would tell you that they are not meant for Armed Robbers,they are all after Yahoo or Normal Street boys.All what they do is to survey and hijacked people coming out from the banks ,claiming that everybody is into Yahoo.Most of them will tell you ,they are not after Armed robbers,because they have families but they are for Yahoo Boys.Ask Onwa of Festac and the former Area Commander OKORO.
So the Residents Association should seek the services of other vigilantes.

So since Lagos voted Ambode ,it seems it has been difficult for the man to step into the big shoes of ( SAN) virtually in every area ..with the news of insecurity,bank robberies ,killings and other decays ..Somebody should tell the man to wake up Ftom his slumber..day light robbery now common in Lagos..the city that Fashola cleared off all miscreants and used wisdom to empower them with tree planting and other entraprenueral innovations ..what is happening ?
