Nice tips. Pls add this, just learn it too; don't be a " silencer"- you call it cramming. Don't be too anxious about GP. Be natural and trust me you are successful.

Very valid points op. I however beg to diasagree on the last point. There is indeed a big difference between 3.5 and 4.44. The danger in your last advice lies in the fact that such a student could become too lax and lose enthusiasm to perform better. We all know how a C grade for a three unit course could adversely affect your GPA. It is better to be on top of your game to avoid stories that touch.

I am a bit uncomfortable with the last paragraph especially the last sentence. I think your point is that a person should maintain balance. but the way that statement is constructed could mislead someone into being content when he/she could be better

Op what is 3.5 Gp where the first class crew is involved. Besides its good to start high like gp of 4.6 so that you try to consolidate consequently.

Finally at worse na 3.6 CGP at the end which is 2:1

Very true. How can one feel safe with a GP of 3.5 knowing fully that the higher you go, the hotter it becomes.
Year 1 courses are mostly foundation courses. If you start poorly there. Sorry becomes your second name cos before you realise it omo na die.

Is that CGPA after ur 200L? If yes u are close to 2:1. Jst dnt score less than GPA of 4.0 in ur yr 3 and u find ur self in 2:1.If it is after 100L better still.U are on course jst work a little harder.

My CGPA after 100L was 3.41.At end of 200L it had risen to 3.7+. I had 4.2 & 4.4 in my 1st ånd 2nd semester 200L respectively. And for 300 & 400 Level I jst worked to maintain my 2:1. My least GPA in any semester from 300 to 400L was 3.58 which was 300L first semester. My final CGPA was arnd 3.8 as my 400L GPA was above 4.0.

I loved dat CGPA game.

Be adventurous, fail, try again in a better way, learn from your mistakes or your life would remain a failed bid. Protect yourself and be informed on how to go about it. Dont be too close to cultists because your life would be used to safeguard theirs
If you fail God, God is at your door to accept you back.
Re: Helpful Tips For Newly Admitted Students by Kamxin(m): 6:40pm On Oct 13, 2015
For the boys, take no decision because of any girl you admire. Girls are free for you, at no cost. But you have to look good and responsible and worth talking to. Make your money or grade or both. Life is hardoo after campus.
For girls, never get tied down by one boy, hava as many responsible suitors as you can. Get too close to husband materials, bearing in mind that it your best chance to get it, also be organized neatness-wise and give the message to guys that you are the most responsible on campus, even though you are managing/struggling to get things going the way it should be.
Please learn, learn and learn any thing good and new, even though it look useless at the moment.
Have your goals written down and look and evaluate it each weekend. Stand for something, eg Buhari is discipline, which made him head 2Times, with or without certificate.
Only inspired people can inspire you and vice versa
Without motivation you can only achieve nothing, e.g without it you cannot practice your religious life.
If any thing goes wrong after your school fees is paid, blame yourself, take responsibility because your life belongs to you not lecturers, friends, uncle and parents.
Goodluck.

Another thing is this; I'll advice undergraduates to never listen to nay sayers. Those who would complain about everythng, blaming lecturers for their low grades. Mingle with bright minds, you would have more than enough time to party but for now focus on your education.

Beyond grades, garner as much experience as you can. Again never undrestimate the power of God. As a lady I told God to. Help me nvr to beg any lecturer for marks and to be outstanding and He did it. So put your trust in God and play your part.

Sorry for the long epistle, just passionate...
